I'm not here to derail your thread lots0 but I do think unethical cross marketing is not only a huge problem for affiliates with US traffic but it's increasing for other other markets too. Unfortunately the history of affiliates banding together to protect their rightful income isn't strong. But I do believe it's time to join forces and fight these changes because I can see these issues getting a whole lot worse.

The only affiliates I see who may receive immunity from unethical cross marketing are those, bringing in big new player figures each month.

I still stand by and say not every casino is doing this. But I fairly confident a lot are or are cooking the books in some manner to stay afloat themselves.

Not a problem. I should have worded my post a little better.
I should have included non-us facing programs as well... <added>Done.</added>

Thing is... I just caught a program red handed cross marketing to my leads.
My anger is clouding my judgment.

I guess I should drop another program... but there are no replacements.

If I drop these guys I am out of the US market.

I personally feel if anyone has solid proof towards any program unethically cross marketing to players tagged to an affiliate, then it's time to start naming and shaming.

These issues are reaching epidemic proportions.
Frankly, any program stealing rightful earnings from anyone is just dodgy and should be rogued if the proof is there in black and white.

No if's no buts, thrown straight on the sh#t list!

What do you mean by leads? signups or real players?

I think you should tell us so we can all drop them.

The stuff I see in my stats is brutal. Maybe its me and this is just the nature of the beast but I have noticed it never seems to break in my favor.

Well that's what I tend to see a lot of lately.

I find it particulary concerning because I'm also a player - certainly not a low roller. Although I wont disclose how much that is, it's more than enough to indicate the slots I have played for many years are not producing the game play I once did.

Whilst I still get decent runs and winnings the chances of getting those BIG hits have dramitcally dropped. Pre 2009 I could almost gaurentee each month I'd get at least one set of scatters of Sping Break, Ladies Nite, Thunderstruck I and Isis. I honestly can not recall the last time this happened.

Break da Bank Again is my all time favourite. Go check out the CM winners screen caps and you'll see I was winning decent wads on this game. Whilst I believe I like everyone can go through bad runs, what I'm seeing is not this but maybe weighting of reels to lower decent hits, or more likely limit the ability to get the free spins. (these produce the big wins).

Making 200 deposits without a cash-out for me was unheard of. However these days (no matter what software) its fast becoming the norm.

Corilating this back to my stats and watching slot players win, in some case month after month (and not small winnings either) makes me go WTF?

The saying "the house always wins"...is true. But if that's the case why aren't affiliates in the same boat!

Edit: Without having access to the raw back-end stats it comes down to affiliates having to hold 100% trust that programs/casinos are not shafting them. With this sort of blind faith at a program/casino disposal all sorts of funky sh#t can take place to make it look like anything they want, if the program/casino decides to play dirty pool!

I am not going to name the program, simply because I can't prove it.

I have caught them and I am convinced, but as far as proving it on an open forum I just can't do that.

In response to my accusing them of cross marketing, the program simply says that it is another aff running a email marketing campaign and the aff must have scraped or purchased my address. While I KNOW better, I can't prove the cross marketing, because the email comes from an email marketing service, mynewsletterbuilder.com.

I started this poll because I wanted to know if others are having the same experience with cross marketing. I didn't start this poll to start a war with a program and if I named the offending program, that is what would happen.

On one level, I have no problem with groups cross-marketing. The caveat, of course, is that the player should still be tagged to my account if they deposit at the other casino or casinos.

The problem, inevitably, comes with lack of knowledge. There's some casino groups I know cross market to my players, because I see sign ups and depositors for casinos that I don't promote within that group. That's fine.

I've no doubt there's plenty that cross-market and I'll never know that they are taking players from under my account and encouraging them to play at other properties where I'll never make any money. That, for me, is stealing.

I agree with Tryme. There are some programs that cross-market appropriately and some who do not.

Brightshare, for example, is one who has always cross-promoted properly (IMO). I've had whales there change from All Jackpots to All Slots to VIP and were always tagged to me. I've had players that came in and NEVER played at a casino they signed up for.... were then cross-marketed to another brand and started playing.

THAT is good cross-marketing (*because it is still tagged to the affiliate).

Anything else is stealing.

Even the Rivals I promoted did it correctly. You could see they created a cross promo campaign in the stats.

AE as well, I remember picking up a player for one of their newly released properties while I was retrieving banners for it but had not yet uploaded the
new pages.
