Betting and Gaming Council lobby group has warned the government about the potential danger of unregulated operators.
An investigation from PricewaterhouseCoopers determined 200,000 local iGaming punters had made a combined 27 million visits to unlicensed iGaming sites over the course of a recent twelve-month period to place approximately £1.4 billion ($1.8 billion) in accumulated wagers.

I have been waiting for a study about this from the UK. Really nice to see some numbers.

The obvious remedy would be to make it easier for people to gamble online at licensed brands in the UK
and let those brands be more competitive and offer better promotions and a safer environment for players.

What will probably happen is that they will try to find ways to block offshore sites and continue to tighten
the UK gaming regulations in an obsessive fashion which will continue to drive more players offshore.

They're Gov., run organisations, with industry clueless goofs, making decisions. What could possibly, ever, go wrong
