BetUS adds a SEM Policy to their terms and conditions which strictly forbids usage of their brand name in PPC and URLs. In addition to this, they are outlawing the usage of site scrapers to access their own information for usage on an affiliate website.

NEW TERM, Marketing, SEM Policy
Search Engine Marketing Policy (SEM) Policy - Affiliates engaging in Search Engine Marketing to include Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and /or pay per click advertising (PPC) to promote www.BetUS.com are not authorized to utilize or bid on keywords incorporating the ?BetUS? trade name (A.K.A. branded terms) or any variation there of. In addition domain names can not contain any variation of the words BetUS at any time, nor can the site resemble www.BetUS.com. Any offences by an affiliate or advertiser doing so will result in their account closure and forfeit of all players. Affiliates are not allowed to use any outside technology to access, crawl, acquire, copy, ”deep-link,” ?inline-link? or ”page-scrape.” This includes the use of ”robots,” ‘’spiders” or other automated devices, programs, algorithms, methodologies or monitor any portion of the BetUS.com web site. Affiliates caught using outside technologies to compromise www.BetUS.com infrastructure and resources will be terminated from the program.

Summary:BetUS is protecting their reputation as well as their brand by adding the term above to their current T&C’s. Sports-related sites are often scraped for latest updates to betting lines as well as other unique and constantly changing information. This term will protect BetUS from affiliates hoping to scrape and use their information.
