Betsson urge old swedish players to open new accounts

I just got a mail from Betsson where the urged me as a Swedish player to open a new player account since the currency in my player account is not SEK but instead EUR. I am a bit worried about this since I assume quite a few of my players that I have sent through the years have EUR in their account. The question is, will these players "new accounts" be tracked to my affiliate account. I, and many other affiliate, might lose lots of players because of this.

I have contacted Betsson support and am awaiting an answer.

I think it depends on how they do it of course. but it seems to me that they are asking you to open A NEW PLAYER ACCOUNT which mean you will not be linked to the old player then.
It is a bit silly, why dont they just offer to change the player from SEK to EUR in their already existing account. Seem to me they are trying to unlink you to the players on purpose

Yes, exactly. If this is the case, Swedish affiliates could lose quite a few players since I assume not everyone choosed SEK when they signed up, I could be wrong tough. They should just convert all accounts from EUR etc to SEK.

Like you said, it could be that they are trying to unlink players to affiliate accounts. Will wait for a reply from betsson.

I have activly stayed away from Betsson since a long time due to their other fraudulent actions in the past.

Joker, I really hope this is not the case for you.
Please let me know what they tell you. But if they are trying to unlink you from your players... you just cant give in. Seems like such a silly and simple thing to do. To just change the currency for the players

Yeah, I just found out about it because I have a player account with euro myself. Else I wouldn't even know. I will update on this forum when I get an answer.

I don't target the swedish market so haven't been following this closely but I do remember reading something about the licensing authority requesting they do this (as well as all swedish players being eligible for a welcome bonus post-license).

I'm also fairly sure I've seen other brands send emails saying swedish players will have to re-register on a .se version of their site but they will track back to the original aff where possible. Maybe this is what betsson are doing?

Email correspondence with instructions will be dispatched to these customers. We aim to migrate all affiliate tracking ID’s as part of this endeavour.

Back on topic... Because affiliates are "partners" Betsson should have also contacted their affiliates, advising on this action. It would certainly demonstrate a sincere commitment to open hand dealings.

Instead, we find out because 3Joker is a Swedish player and was contacted to re-register a new player account. Hence, this is why affiliates become cynical and eventually have next to no trust in programs. No one can blame people for wondering how many tagged players will go MIA in another change...

Affiliates are somehow obligated nowadays to make test accounts and deposit there. We've got quite some of these test accounts (not in Sweden) and the amounts of messages to cross-sell and other crap is insane.

Wouldn't be a problem to copy all btags to new player account in SEK. However the lack of communication by Betsson raises some concerns here ...

I have also noticed a significant reduction in Betsson's income. At first, I didn't understand why. But when I had to re-register for an SEK account I got the same suspicions that 3joker mentions.

This feels so wrong !!!
