We recently received an email from the Team at Voonix, it is a product used to track your stats from all your affiliate programs (Similar to stats remote and Niftystats) the difference is that they are iGaming only. Anyone had experience with this software or using it currently? Any feedback would be great.

No they didn't, we will try get more info. You can contact Johannes (jn@voonix.net) for more info and a 30 minute demo if you are keen to test it out.

They said "Voonix is a dedicated tool for iGaming Affiliates, and we collectively have more than 60 years of iGaming experience in the team."

Unfortunately its another cloud based solution where you have to give them your affiliate login and password details, while they get the opportunity to data mine all your stats.

This disclaimer is misleading:

SECURITY NOTE
Voonix is a server based program. Your personal login details and stats are stored encrypted on our hosting server. We do not have access to your data at any time – unless you want us to.

Hosting will always be on Voonix’s own servers, so that we always have the opportunity to maintain and service the program optimally.

While it may be true that your logins and passwords are encrypted on their servers while they are not being used, they have to be decrypted to be used when they scrape the stats for you. Therefore Voonix possesses the decryption keys which means your logins and passwords are available to anyone there with access to the keys. The only thing encrypting the data at rest does is protect you if a hacker or rogue employee steals the database but not the decryption keys.

I have been in contact with this and they do offer a solution on your own servers:

This is one of the most common questions we receive. Since we are both working with public listed companies and smaller affiliates, we have two solutions.

Cloud-Servers: Your Voonix Set-Up running on our servers
- Servers places in Germany by Hetzner
- Servers can only be accessed with our WiFi IP in Copenhagen

Own-Servers: Your Voonix Set-Up on your servers
- NDA in the contract
- Servers and frontend can only be accessed by our Tech Team; The Tech Team has an NDA in their contract
- Whistleblower contract with any kind of inquiries
- Full Log and Track Report of ALL users
- Clause for Employees

We are also told prices varies from 5k-20k Euro a year.

We are very sorry but when Johannes replied your the mail the first time he made mistake. He made a mix of the external and the cloud solution. So what is written here is how we handle security on the cloud solution. We have an external solution where we encrypt the software to a server that is handled by the client. This is a fine solution but it also has some difficulties when the affiliate software changes API etc. So we would rather work with the client on our servers.

Hey,
great post by the way. I have a question that I don't seem to be able to grasp. The casinos themselves have their own back-end where you can check all the stats. So rather than using a tool like Voonix or Niftystats, why dont you just check each casino individually and then you dont have any security issues. That is what I do... maybe that is really stupid :(.
so my question is also, is it really beneficial to get a tool like that?

Hi Thomas,

Products such as NiftyStats and Voomix help avoid having to login to each individual program which is very time consuming. We work with hundreds of programs and list over 1000 casinos and have several websites with separate accounts.

It is also great to see all the sales figure data all in one place so you can easily see how things are going with the programs you are promoting and spot any issues, change exposure etc.

It's for time-saving, you can also check conversion rates etc to a degree.

If you only work with a few brands then I would login and check the stats. But as the user wrote if you have a lot of account it is very time consuming to that. Especially if you want track your different traffic sources to the same brand and want to analyze the data. So it is all about saving time and use less time on manual work.

As far as I know Nifty Stats is available for Windows. How about those who use Lynux OS? Any other option besides cloud-based one?
