Hey all,

We are getting VERY close to releasing our next service at AGD. There is some minor testing to complete and then it will be ready!

AGD Translations

The new service is for translating websites and webpages. Our translators are ALL real translators (i.e., we do not use Google Translations, Babelfish, or any automated translator).

Currently there are hundreds of translators we have 'ready to go' with over 80 languages.

The important things: This is 100% AGD-Backed and I take that very seriously. This means that, if you don't feel the translation is good enough - we will give it to another one of our translators to proof-read and update. If you are still not satisfied - then all monies for the translation are returned.

Summary: Real Translations, Real People, Excellent for Diversification.

I can't wait to release this one! There is another service just around the corner, but massive testing still needs to be done on that one :) More will come soon!!!!

Thanks guys! This one has been a long time coming and I am excited to finally release it :) It is definitely a well-thought out system and should help all of us diversify, if we so chose.

Thanks everyone :) The official launch will be Monday, but you may have noticed a new button at the top of the forums. The Translation Service is active and running for about a week now. The programmer went on vacation and will be back Monday, which is why I wanted to wait (err on the side of caution) :)

I see that you offer a 2-3 day turnaround for this. Is there a quicker option? I have a blog that I would like translated into a number of languages, but, because of the nature of the blog, I'd need a 3-4 hour turnaround. Obviously, I'd be prepared to pay more.

Is this do-able? I'm putting this out here on the forums as I suspect the answer would be useful for more than just me.

That will depend upon the languages. I'm about to head out for the rest of my vacation, but please let me know the languages to translate-to-from and I can get you an answer on Monday.

Sorry for the delay!

English to Afrikaans firstly. Basically, there will be two posts per week (Wed and Sat) of varying lengths.

In order to be cost-effective, the fastest turnaround time is 15 hours. When we get closer to a 12 hour turnaround, the cost is just not worth it (IMO). 4 Hours would be ridiculous, if even possible.

Sorry :(

:D Hi Guys

Just a quick testimonial - I had access to try this system out before launch. Turnaround was in about 3 days (and included the weekend) I think I did it on Friday and I think it was available Monday.

The thing I really liked was that they will install the translated version in your html ... (and lucky me had a site in html) - I know the system takes other formats, too.

All I had to do was install the flags on my site, and point them to the new files.

Internet Casinos - Online Casinos - 25casinos.com is where you can see this. The pages all rank in other language SEs like google.de, etc...

Translating can be thought to be expensive, but to me it was the cheapest "new site" I ever got. Using your own content and multiplying your exposure by languages. I only have done the home page in 3 languages because I have other stuff going on right now, but I'd vote for this service. Also what a great way to support AGD!

Also if anyone knows the languages, you can check my site for quality of translations.

I'm a customer fo sho!

Andy,
I'm chopping at the bit to use your services (excuse metaphore, I grew up in a small southern town).

The question I have is whether or not the translators are used the the contextual content of online gambling. If I get a translation with blackjack and it says "hit me", are they going to talk about physical abuse of the player of getting another card?

I'm very thankful for you providing this service. I've found some good translators before, but they usually degrade or cease their services leaving me with little or no translating options that are valid for online gaming.

Any comments on the context of online gaming is greatly appreciates.

Thanks Andy!

The translaters are all contextual translators (none literal). They actually take time to read the content and understand it. Some are well versed in gaming, others are not as versed. All, though, take time to research and provide the proper translation.

That I will guarantee.

In my opinion no translation would better than a translation done by a person with no knowledge of standard gambling terms and expressions. I have done many translations in the past, and it always hurts me when casinos choose a cheap translator and therefore end up with translations where an expression like "hit me" is translated into something about physical abuse. Roxy casino is another example. I have contacted them several times to let them know that some of their Danish language pages doesn't make any sense, but they do not seem to care much. Most Danes understand English quite well, and I don't think they would choose a casino with erroneous translations rather than a casino that doesn't have the site translated into Danish.
