Affiliate Program or Casino Contract Directly?

Currently, I am not working with any affiliate program, the limited number of casinos I work with have all been setup directly. There are however, some pros and cons I would like to discuss.

I noticed that the Revenue Share on affiliate programs are high. What I have seen is that it is around 40% overall; whereas as a smaller affiliate not sending too much traffic, getting 40% or more is hard. Is it just flat 40% on affiliate programs no matter traffic amounts?

For a website with more traffic, it is possible not only to get revenue share but also a fixed fee per month. Is a fixed fee also possible to obtain through affiliate programs?

When signing up to a casino directly the affiliate contract is usually very poor, giving you no rights whatsoever. Does the affiliate programs have stronger more fair contract in place so the probability of being kicked out from a particular casino without receiving any kind of compensation is lower?

thanks!

First, I have NEVER worked direct with any casino - I didn't even know that was possible!
I only work through the casino's own affiliate program - not via any third parties.

To answer your questions:
40% flat is not hard to get - I have that (or more in some cases) with loads of casinos, all with no quota's and no NCO.
But... remember that is 40% of NGR, which with the extortionate fees some casinos impose, can be a tiny % of GGR.
(e.g. My 40% with Videoslots ends up being only 6-8% of GGR)

Fixed fee contracts (I believe are called "Media Buys") are possible for the "big boys"... so again I have never had one of those.

Hey KasinoKing!
yeah sorry you are right. So I am not part of an Affiliate Program, but work with the casinos' own affiliate platform
Thanks for clearing that up :)

RS became some bs parameter actually. I've seen casinos offering 70% or even more. Important is the NGR.

If you have decent traffic, I would always to for RS in combination with CPA or fixed fee. It's too risky nowadays to trust on the lifetime value of a player. Lifetime is often interrupted by closing markets, retro-actively forces quota, closed programs (GDPR, UK compliance, etc), increased admin fees.

And some brands just perform poor or are saturated. Traffic is too valuable to waste it on non-performing brands or doing the retention of saturated brands.

Cut and run while the running's good.

My views are changed drastically this and last year. Before I was more like "RS is best for both, sharing profit is the best for a partnership, etc". Now, I am more like it has to be profitable for me, can't trust programs in the long run and it's not quite a partnership.
