Affiliate Lounge is considered a Predatory affiliate program for the following reasons:

1. Removal of Players from Affiliate Account if those players are considered 'Dormant'

2. Breach of Contract

3. Implementation of Affiliate Quota, Retroactively, which can result in termination of account and commissions stealing.

Please do NOT promote Affiliate Lounge until which time they have resolved these very serious matters.

Thank you and please see the following link for details on the changes made to their terms which clearly outline the issues above:

Hey thanks Andy. I think for space-cadets like me, we should mention what casinos they promote so I can put the face to the mask. (whenever possible) ? Just a suggestion.

These changes really are EVIL!

I just sent this e-mail to them:-

Just to let you know I am VERY unhappy at your retro-active changes:

"Please note that we have made a change to numbers 2.1.6, 2.1.15, 6.4, 6,5 and 6.7 in our Terms of Use."

These changes are extremely unfair on very hard working affiliates like myself who commit 7 days a week to try to bring new players into casinos. There is no way I can be sure of meeting your new targets, so unless these unfair rule changes are reversed, or waived for existing affiliates, I shall have no option but to cease promoting your brands.

This is a shame because I've done OK with these people.
Not mega-bucks, just a slow trickle which averages out to $24/month in the 2.5 years I've been promoting them. Bit a lot of little trickles can form a big river! ;)

They are just beating themselves over their own heads with this breach of contract.

Some of these programs really have no clue about business ethics - Affiliate Lounge is proving to be one of them, unfortunately. Stuart just continually tries to give excuses about the terms, but I think he really knows that they are complete crap and unethical.

ya they truly do not have a clue.

That said, it makes you wonder what or rather how is business done from their home place because its rather a no-brainer in most cases.

Treat the partner right or you won't have a partner for very long.

IMO Affiliate Lounge is in business for the short run. Make a quick buck then shut down all operations and hide. A bad program hell bent on screwing anything in their path.

Quotas, geese here is a quota for Affiliate Lounge, honour your original agreement. Business is a two way street, play fair.

Well I never had anything to do with them thank goodness.

And you know I am tired of being harsh on some of these crazy programs.

Those changes in the T&C are really stupid, and I bet they lost many affiliates because of this. I removed them from some of my websites, or decreased their positions because of this.

I am curious if any of the predatory terms was enforced to any affiliate. Did they remove any player from affiliates by now, or they just added a stupid term that are not going to enforce?

I hate to say this

I hate to say this,
but since the terms change I tried different aff programs in order to switch aff lounge, but did not find any alternative program that gives a similar profit (in my market people just seem to like "casino euro")

I would like to inform you all that Affiliate Lounge have updated the terms and conditions in November. With that update we removed all terms that were predatory against affiliates. You will no longer find any requirement of minimum depositing players or removal of dormant account policy.

Please let me know what you think of the updated terms and I hope this change will make Affiliate Lounge to an even more attractive affiliate program.

Best Regards

That's nice Marten, but how do we know Affiliate Lounge won't retroactively change the T&Cs in the future, like they did in 2010?

At that time, AL decided to implement a quota. The rule applied to all affiliates, not just new affiliates. With the quota in place, if Affiliate Lounge wasn't able to convert an affiliate's traffic into 5 depositors in 3 months, Affiliate Lounge could close the affiliate account and steal the residual income from the existing player base.

It's one thing to implement something like this for "new" affiliates. But to force it on existing affiliates is unethical. Retroactive changes that hurt affiliates are not acceptable.

I actually would like to promote some of the brands under the AL umbrella, but after the stunt in 2010, I don't have a lot of faith, even with the new recent changes. Why should anyone trust Affiliate Lounge now? What's stopping the company from implementing a new, retroactive quota clause in late 2012 or early 2013?

Sorry for the delay on this folks... Affiliate Lounge terms are still considered predatory by AGD. Reason is the following term, which is just a re-write of the one that got them in trouble in the first place:

Minimum Activity Clause said:
7.9 The Company reserves the right to set limits for a minimum level of activity on Affiliate's accounts. Such minimum activity levels will be continuously reviewed and the Company reserves the right to terminate any agreement not reaching the limit. Such limit shall not be unreasonably high and reflect the intention of avoiding accounts where the revenue does not cover the Company's internal costs for maintaining the account and the payout procedure.

Follow that with the termination clause and it is clear what they are trying to do here.

First of all Thanks Andy.

I acctually find this funny. Mårten have not replied on Engineer's post above either but he came here to flag that they were aff friendly again and again.

I am dissapointed I acctually thought it would be ok now.

Mårten I do belive it's time for Affiliatelounge to start working with us rather then against us as I mentioned in a nother post.

I'd like a response, too (otherwise I wouldn't have asked the questions in the first place).

Marten, hello?

The silence makes me wonder if I may have figured out their plan... i.e. perhaps they are already planning to make changes a few months from now.
