Affiliate Club adds 40% gaming tax for Austrian Players

Important Tax Update
Starting March 2016, we must levy a 40% gaming tax on gaming revenue pay (Gross Gaming Revenue) from players based in Austria.

We tried as long as possible to avoid these additional costs to our affiliates, which were already introduced by other platforms & providers last year. Unfortunately, from March 2016 onwards we have no choice but to collect the gaming tax for Austrian players.

We realize that this is a very high amount, but due to Austrian legislation, our hands are completely tied, and all we can do is ask for your understanding.

As you will note, the gaming tax will be shown as a negative fixed amount at the end of the month in your affiliate account.

I don't think webmaster sending Austrian traffic will be happy with this one.

will it actually be split between the affiliate and the operator or will the casino just offer high rev share to all affiliates?

That makes playing not even worth it... You have to just about triple your money just to double it.. Does that apply to the casinos or the players... As in... IDK how their laws work.. I don't think most US players even claim their winnings.. But who knows..

Yes, this happened a while ago (2011 according to Google) but operators only started paying attention to it last year

I've had an excellent history with Affiliate Club. Can't say otherwise. Even as I stopped marketing and took my website down, this is the ONLY affiliate casino program where I continued to earn. I earn a pittance now but it is steady and faithful, all from my existing players. This is after the increased % loss for the Austrian market.

From the charts, I haven't gotten a single player in maybe about 5 years. A little goes a long way with me so I am so surprised to see it now rated as a rogue outfit. I would not be able to agree with the assessment.

Concerning the 40% tax topic, please allow me to react by telling you that this tax issue that we have with AT market doesn't thrill us either. In fact, we're really not happy about this but... The law is the law, and we have to apply it. We have absolutely no control over those things unfortunately.

Besides that, I was pretty surprised to see that we've been moved to Rogue Section because of this, especially since we have very good terms, as written at the top of this page (No negative carry-over etc...). Therefore I'd be glad to answer your further questions if you have any, and be taken off from this rogue list.
