Dear all,

Been working with casino's for a while now and worked with betsson for at least a couple of years and registered there with casino-euro.nl. A Dutch casino portal/website.

But 2 weeks ago they send me a mail, out of the blue, about that they are gonna close my affiliate account (effective immediately). Because of a serious 'copyright infringement'. They mean the use of casino-euro.nl.

I tried to logon but with no luck they really kicked me out. And this for the second time, the other one was for unknown reason?!?!

I emailed Betsson and tried to explain that i registered with that url and that some affiliate manager from there side accepted me as a affiliate, and then after a while when i started to bring people in and started to earn money for them and off course myself they send me the message that they kicked me out.

They never responded to my email, and i did send a second email that they should be ashamed. But as expected they didn't respond to that email as well.

So i share my experience on site's like these so that people can be warned for company like Betsson. I also lost my rev share for that month (it was not much), but its about the principle.

Kindly,
Alex

If you had that domain name then you breached the clearly laid out terms and conditions not to use those names also not for SEO = paid SEO.

But yes they should had sent you warning first unless it is cleary stated they can close your account instant without warning.

But surely if you had a promise you could use it by affiliate manager then you could show proof of that. But if your Affiliate manager left and you did not check with the new affiliate manger then you only got yourself to blame mate. Never a wise idea to use a casino brand name in your domain and that would normally only be done by sneaky Russian etc affiliates.....or sorry to the Russians but to make it more clear used by spammy affiliates.

To make a poll like you have I really don't see the point in. Anyone had the same experience?? No as I stick to rules and play by the book without making domain names which are directly interfering with a casino brand or also is someone else name. And to warn other affiliates is not really fair towards Betsson.

To be fair there has been lot of complaints about the old Affiliate Lounge (Betsson) This about them sending out warnings to close inactive accounts etc. But this was discussed and is an automatic service they use and many times was their mistake that those emails was sent out.

I recent received an positive email instead of closure threat as they offered 60% revenue for 2 months if I could push their brands more and get new signups.

So bottom of this I am not defending Betsson here or trying to make you the bad guy. I am just stating what I feel which some others or you might not agree with :)

You shouldn't use the casino name in the URL because it is against the terms and conditions
set forth by a lot of affiliate programs. They don't want you banking directly off of their brand.
The term "casino euro" is a bit generic to really be considered a brand name, but it's just one
of those things you should always avoid, because like in this case, it can have a negative effect.
