Star Partner has changed their affiliate payment date :( They have more time to pay you now!

TERMS UPDATE – PAYMENT DATE

10. Payment 10.1. We will pay you referral fees on a monthly basis, within the first 5 10 working days of each month for any fees earned by you in the previous month. 10.2. For affiliates using either check or ACH as the payment option; balances of less than $100 outstanding will be withheld until such time as the balance exceeds $100 at the end of the month.


Summary: Star Partners have changed their payment date for affiliate payments from within the first 5 days to within the first 10 days.

[Older Alert - 4/19/2010]Star Partners have added a clause to disallow ‘Brand Bidding’. This is in an effort to clear the way for them to run PPC ads on their own with no competition for their own brand identities.

7.4 . Brand bidding is a serious matter at Star Partner . We therefore have set out limitations to advertising on the behalf of our affiliates . Please be advised that if you are found brand bidding , we reserve the right to withdraw your commissions paid to you at any time without any correspondence or warning and ultimately the termination of your account . You may not , under any circumstances , use domain names utilized by Star Partner and its clients . You may therefore not use domain names , brand names or any bid made by your party on keywords , search terms including and without limitations , Crazy Vegas Casino , Crazy Vegas , Crazy Poker , Crazy Mobile Casino , Golden Riviera Casino , Sun Vegas Casino , Maple Casino , Cinema Casino , 777 Dragon Casino ( including Triple Seven Dragon Casino) , Aspinalls Casino , Aspinalls Poker , Casino UK , Casino AUS , and Casino France-Net .


Summary:Brand identity is something that many groups are adding to their terms. As PPC opens up, they do not want to lose out to high PPC bidders. This will keep affiliates from outbidding them.

Star Partner have changed their terms to add a 1st month commission increase (with rules) and some amendments to the payment date and methods.

TERMS UPDATE, COMMISSIONS, FIRST MONTH COMMISSIONS RULE

9.15 . Affiliates will earn a 90 % commission in the first month of signing up to the star Partner Program . 9.15.1 The 90 % Commission earned in the first month will be allocated to the affiliate in arrears , and will be combined with the commission earned in the second month . Should an affiliate during this time be discovered in engaging in fraudulent activity , such as sending large volumes of fraudulent players to any of the client sites , or if it is detected that a large or disproportionate amount of players sent by an affiliate to any of Star Partners client sites charge back from the client sites , the affiliate will no longer be eligible for the 90 % commission earning in their first month of joining the affiliate program .

Summary: Excellent news for new affiliates who can get a 90% 1st month commission rate. It’s best to have some good traffic prior to starting, as a result.

Star Partner have changed the FAQ which now states that they will pay affiliate commissions within the first 7 days of the month.

Summary:Star Partners have changed their payment date for affiliates, but only by a couple days. No big alarm bells on this one.

Star Partner have made necessary changes to their high roller clause, which makes the term much more clear. The change ensures that month 1 earnings are not destroyed by the fencing policy.

19. Player Quarantine Policy

  1. If the player generates a negative net win in any given month and such a negative net is at least $10000 and the aggregate net win in that particular month for the affiliate is -$2000, then the high-roller policy will apply in full effect.
  2. If both measures are met (clause 1), then the negative net win generated by the player (high-roller) will be taken forth and compensated against future net win generated by the same player.
  3. The negative balance carried forward cannot be set-off against other players’ net win.
  4. The negative balance carried forward cannot exceed the sum of the aggregate net win for the affiliate, for that particular month.
  5. If there is more than one (1) high-roller then the negative balance carried forth will be split proportionately among the players.
  6. Any negative balances belonging to high-rollers will be reduced by future positive net wins that they generate in follow-up months (clause 1)

19. Player Quarantine Policy

  1. The Quarantine Policy will come into effect when:

    1.1 Any player generates a negative net win (in any given month) which is a greater negative than – $3000
    1.2 The overall net win for the affiliate in that casino (in any given month) is a greater negative than -$2000

  2. If both of the quarantine measures from point 1 are met, the negative net win generated by the player will be taken and compensated against future net wins by that player in future month/s.
  3. All players placed in quarantine will be visible for affiliates to view within the profit reporting section in Star Partner.
  4. Any player’s quarantine balance carried forward will not be set-off against other players’ net win.
  5. Quarantine happens in month 1. If a player wins in month 1 and the other players lose in month 1, the affiliate will be paid commission on the other players in month 1.
  6. In the month that a player surpasses his quarantine value, the affiliate will begin earning commission for that player again.

 

Explanation of the quarantine policy:

Quarantine happens in month 1. If a player wins $10,000 in month 1 and the other players lose $6,000 in the same month, the affiliate is paid commission on $6,000, while the $10,000 is quarantined. This affiliate would otherwise have earned zero in month 1, but now earns commission on $6,000.

 

Example:

 

Casino A:

Win/Loss

Player 1:

$1750.00

Player 2:

$700.00

Player 3:

-$10000.00

Player 4:

$2050.00

Player 5:

$1500.00

 

Prior to the quarantine policy, an affiliate would not earn anything and the winnings would be offset against all the other players under the casino and be zeroed.

On the above example, with the quarantine policy in place, the affiliate would earn on the $6000.00.

With a player in quarantine, and for the duration of the quarantine, the player’s negative is excluded from affiliate casino profit. Once the player has played back his/her negative profit, it will be accounted for as normal in affiliates’ commission. If the quarantined player never returns and never plays the win back, the casino will suffer the loss alone. At no point will the loss be deducted from any affiliates’ commission.


Summary:The changes shown above are in response to affiliates across the various forums who were worried that Star Partner was fencing players AFTER the first month. This term is STILL retroactive, so be wary.

StarPartners have added a new term to their affiliate contract. This term’s purpose is to ensure that high roller winnings (once they exceed $10,000, or the affiliate’s earnings are -$2,000) will be carried forward as negative earnings into the next month. This negative will ONLY affect that particular player, which means your affiliate account will be the better for it.

Summary:This new term was just introduced and will likely apply to all affiliates. Please take note of this clause. It is important and can affect your earnings.
