    Default Your monthly reporting procedures

As I'm growing, one of the areas I really need to improve in is my reporting and so I'd really like to know how you guys go about it and what you report on?

Are you purely interested in your revenue at the end of the month? Or do you also look at:

    - Weekly search position for main keywords?
    - Traffic volumes on your main site(s)?
    - Principal sources of traffic?
    - Clicks and impressions?
    - Other things that I haven't even thought about?

Also, where do you record this information? Is it all in an Excel spreadsheet? And if so, does anyone recommend any good templates to use?

Apologies in advance if this seems like a bit of a nothing-of-a-post. I guess it is at the moment as I don't really know what I should be doing

    Thanks loads for the help

I am in the same shoes, some weeks ago we had an investor and I needed to make a presentation, I made it in Excel, examining the data from Google Analytics, from the programs' statistics and my weblogs.
    I included:
    • visitors to my site
    • clicks from my site to casinos/etc
    • content amount added
    • monthly revenue
    • monthly signups
    • montly new players
    • link acquiring activities
    • keyword / conversion ratio
    • US/non US visitors ratio
    • US/non US casino/bingo/etc ratio where I have revenue
    • indexed pages in Google / Indexed pages in Google from sitemap

I made diagrams and hell, I was the most surprised to see some relationships comparing the data.

Make sure you know Google Analytics inside out if you use it, there are a lot of info buried there just you need to know where to find it Measure everything, make tracking links at the programs so you can clearly see what works and what not. Here is some starting point to make GoAn tracking work for you: Measuring Your Marketing: Campaign Tracking via Google Analytics – Part 1

For reporting in Excel I think i posted a great resource some time ago, cannot find the thread right now, but here is the link to the 1st part:
How To: Excel at Excel for SEM Applications, Part 1

    Hope this helps

I know this is a bit of an old thread, but I'm going to give it a bump as I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this too.

Sipka's post is great and contains some really resources which have been really useful to me, but I'm still not happy with my end of month procedures.

I'm sure I should be tracking my traffic much better than I am at the moment.

Perhaps what I should be asking is what sort of traffic you think should be included in an affiliate spreadsheet.

I'd be happy to put an ultimate reporting spreadsheet together and then share it with the forum.
