    Crap! Thanks A Lot 32Red !!

Finally, Don't Forget to Update Your Links

Just a quick reminder: following our recent move to https://affiliates.32red.com and the NetRefer system, you will need to change your links from the old BTag system to the ones provided for in the new affiliate centre by the end of this month. We also advise you take that opportunity to check and update your payment details where necessary.
Jeeze, this will really be easy...thank you so much for this 32Red. I only have about 289 affiliate links out there in cyberspace and on my sites for 32Red that need to be updated now!

Why oh why do programs do this $hit? I guess they think we as affiliates have absolutely nothing better to do with our time than to just spend it updating links that should have been left the hell alone with in the first place!!

Why couldn't 32Red just set up a re-direct from the old "B-Tags"?? This is ridiculous!!

It would take about 20 minutes to set something like this up. Maybe their tech team can do this before the big switcheroo.

Yeah 99% of online casinos won't offer to do this for affiliates because it defeats there purpose, to make as much money off us as possible without paying anything back in return. They are hoping that a huge amount of affiliate forget or just don't bother to change the links that way any players that signup under the "old" links will be 100% theirs, no affiliate to pay anymore....and nothing we can do about it cause we were told to change links....

I'm sure you are correct Dave. I just can't think of why 32Red would not have done this in the first place. Surely their tech team members are bright enough to figure this one out. Or do they not want to figure this one out.

Could there be other ulterior motives there as Pat mentioned? I hope not, as they are truly a very well respected brand among the player community and have won the CM Award for the past 6 years.

So why would an award winning company such as 32Red not be more user friendly to their affiliates by implementing a few lines of code to forward all of the old B_Tags to the new site....hmmmm

It does make one wonder, doesn't it!

Something to consider and likely in part true IMO. However, 32Red is a pretty solid program one of ten I put my trust behind. What is bothersome is the need to change something that is not broken.

Why change a good tire for the same tire I have no idea?

    Default Links

    Hi everyone,

Apologies for not replying sooner, but the first post appeared to be a general statement about affiliate programs - I didn't want to barge in on a discussion.

Unfortunately the change in links was necessary for the migration to the NetRefer platform. We have tried to give affiliates as much notice as possible and we will continue to remind affiliates to change links and to offer all the help we can during the transition.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this, but I'm sure you'll grow to appreciate the improvements NetRefer offers.

    All the best,

Hey Aaron, this is your section of the forum here at AGD, so just jump on in anytime someone posts in here buddy.

Aaron, I think we can understand the migration to NetRefer but what I and I'm sure others don't understand just as Dave also mentioned above is why can't you guys just simply setup a re-direct from the old "B-Tags" for all of us affiliates?

That question was the last sentence of my first post here in this thread. I really don't think you guys really get how difficult it is to go back to different websites where we have published articles and scattered your links in there amongst 50 articles or more.

If it were only a matter of changing out a couple of banner links or a couple of text links then that would be no big deal but to have to go back to various websites and sift through keywords that may have one of your links attached to it is major work my friend..

I also think that you guys should be more willing to try and work out a re-direct from our old links especially considering the fact that you guys have been nominated for Casino Operator of the Year. That's the way I see a "Casino Operator of the Year" acting in regard to their affiliates anyway.

    Hi GamblingGuru

    Thanks for your reply.

While I don't know the full technical details, this is how I understand it.

The old affiliate system used fixed BTags to track your registrations, e.g. "http://www.32red.com?BTag=32REDBANAFF12345".

To allow complex tracking of clicks and banners, the new system NetRefer creates a unique string at the end of the URL to indentify which banner was clicked, which section of your site the banner was on etc. As each string is unique to that click, so it’s not possible to redirect the old tags.

A large percentage of our affiliates are now using linking methods to allow the tracking to be changed easily, for example, instead of linking to "http://www.32red.com?Tracking=12345", you would link to "www.yoursite.com/32red.php" - they then use some special code inside the php file to redirect to our site with the tracking code. This way, if the links change you only need to change the link in one place.

While I know this is ‘closing the barn door after the horse has bolted’ – it may help for other programs in future?

Once again, I apologise for the inconvenience.

    Aaron
