I came across a list that may be helpful to some affiliates. Make sure that when you use social bookmarking or networking sites, you do not just throw up a spammy link and go awayThat will defeat the purpose of the link itself.
DO Follow Social Networks
If you are unaware of what this means, here is a brief tutorial (very brief)
No Follow Links
These type of links were created so that you could create a link to a website, but give it 'no weight'. There was a good comment about this on Google's blog some time ago:

To Reiterate: The 'Do Follow' list linked to above is an excellent list of places where you can add links to your website which will add value. However - you have to be careful how you add those links. Look to add some text copy and keep it unique to create a proper link. The goal is to make that 'Post' or link useful to the surfer. Doing this will not only make the link appear less spammy, but will give a surfer something to click (surfers DO know the difference between a spam link and a real one. Make your links 'real')
