Default QUESTION: For All Affiliates re: Progressive Jackpot Seeding

QUESTION: For All Affiliates re: Progressive Jackpot Seeding

With the recent and unexpected revelation from Rival that affiliates will be contributing to their progressive jackpot seeding, brought up a question to me regarding the other software providers and whether or not any of them also require affiliates to contribute to or seed their progressive jackpots?

Do affiliates currently have to seed or contribute to the seeding of the progressive jackpots for:

    Microgaming
    RTG
    Vegas Tech
    Playtech
    WagerLogic
    Wagerworks

As far as I always knew, players wagering was what all the other software providers used for seeding the progressives or the casinos did it themselves.

That is how I always understood it to be as well.

We had a thread about this a few years ago at the GPWA and I will try and dig it up.

I know Red Returns does. but it was like 5% of deposits and not wagering from what I understood. I don't promote them much now.

I found a few threads, but some of them are in the archives so let me see what I can do to bring them out....

A few give an indication how specific operators handle it, but it is not a definitive answer for all.

For MGS a percentage of each bet must be paid as progressive contributions.

I'm not sure exactly what percentage that is, but if for example it was 3%, for every dollar wagered, we would have to pay 3 cents of that dollar as progressive contributions...

As a side note, our group does not pass this cost onto affiliates.

    Cheers

Thanks for the reply and confirmation Renee. That is also the way I had always remembered and heard it was for Microgaming as well.

    Hi slotplayer,

As Renee explained all Microgaming progressive contributions, including Red Flush, is based on wagering and not deposits.

No biggie slotplayer, thanks for taking part in the thread. I'm just glad we are clear now on at least how Microgaming does it. Maybe a few other reps from other software platforms will respond here as well.
