    Default My First Month

First off I'd like to thank Andy and any other mentors that have replied to my emails.

When I first asked about the mentor program and stimulus package, I really had no idea what was all involved in being an affiliate. I just knew it seemed like a good way to make money online, and I had experience gambling online with some very good experiences at a few casinos, so I was happy to promote them.

Since then I've found that it's not the easiest job, and there are lots of things to look out for and be careful of, but I've been having fun with it. I like being my own boss, but I'm kind of a hard-ass. I've been adding to my site daily, and starting to get a fair amount of content, though there is still much more to add.

Starting to show up decently in the SERPs for such a new site. Not sure what is so great about my Triple Twister slot page, but it's on page 2 of a google search for 'triple twister' and page 1 for 'twister lands'. Obviously not the best converting keywords, but nice to see anyway. I noticed those when I saw that people had clicked on my site after searching those terms.

The majority of my traffic and conversions have come from word-of-mouth, figured that was the best way to get traffic before I had any kind of decent placement in the SERPs.

I didn't take all that was offered in the stimulus package. I designed the site and set it up on my existing host (I run a website for a group of online gamers - first person shooter games). I basically just got advice from Andy and mentors on SEO and other important things that I had no clue about. I am very grateful for all the time they have spent helping me out, I know they are always busy.

I had a successful first month as The Canadian Gambler. I made a grand total of $130, would have been more but didn't quite make the minimum payment level at a couple other programs. Since I only paid $10 to add a domain to my existing host, I'm pretty happy to get that back in the first month, plus it almost paid for the year of hosting. So far this month I'm up to about $250 that is payable, as long as nobody wins in the next couple weeks.

So again, thank you Andy and mentors, I would have had a tough time starting out without you. I plan to continue working hard at it and will probably do another site next year (that seems to be the trend?).

Looking forward to eventually meeting many of you at future conferences, when I start making enough to go to them.

    You've got great first results.
I remember my efforts and experiments on this field - it was crazy for me

I didn't know that it was possible to attract mentor. It would be great. So you're on the right track.

I'd recommend you to forget about money for about 3-4 months and invest a lot of efforts in your site development (content, promotion, content and content ). Just concentrate on that and you should see better result.

    Cheers!

Good on you. Most people don't make money for months after starting!

Regards multiple sites ... people have different strategies. Lots of affiliates make dozens of low quality sites all going for different keywords while others try to concentrate their efforts on one higher quality site. Totally up to you to decide what suits you best.

    Money Wow

Your first results are awesome. Keep at it and STUDY SEoO till your crosseyed. Be patient and steady and listen to guys like the pokerkeep and others that are helping you along the way. This is a very competitive market but you are doing the right things.

The way to get people to your site before you get page ranking is word of mouth, local (cheap) advertising and being creative.

I live in Cancun, Mexico. I have given business cards to local bartenders in the Hotel Zone with specific promo codes on each. When one of their customers deposits money with their code I give them $5.00. Be creative. I am also posting my URL in local hotels with the same coding.

    Cheers

I actually thought about giving out business cards to players at my local casino, but I wasn't sure how that would go over if someone happened to tell management, I kinda like going there.

I do talk to people at the slots next to me, but haven't had the balls give out any business cards yet.

I also thought, since I live on a very busy street just outside downtown in a very visible spot, I should throw up a sign on my fence with the URL. Not sure about the legalities, but might be worth it to throw it up until I'm told to take it down. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

    I'm also on Twitter - @TheCDNGambler

And I have a Facebook page, but haven't put alot of effort into getting people to "like" my page and suggest it to their friends.

When grabbing that link I noticed The Gambling Guru now likes my FB page, thanks dude! lol

    Cheers!

Awesome Perc, I've been doing the same thing on Facebook and Twitter. Just a reminder, you should make both a group and a "Like Page" on facebook. Double the exposure. I'm not going to post my links heres cuz i dont want to hijack your post. Anyways, you good luck and make more money!

Good stuff Perc, I love reading success stories. I remember making like $1.32 my 2nd or 3rd month in. It was a very exciting time for me since I knew the system worked. I was pumped and it looks like you are too...

I always say you can be as successful as you want to be in this industry, the only difference between you and super affiliates is knowledge.

I'm not sure its easier to ask for forgiveness then permission when it comes to law enforcement. I'd keep as low a profile as possible.
