    Default Minimum payment question

Might be a dumb question, but I think it's worth asking... mostly for programs with NCO.

If you don't make the minimum payment for a month, and the casino takes a loss the next month, is the balance of your last month used or does it remain separate?

It's not supposed to happen, but it does. Depends upon the professionalism of the affiliate program, IMO.

    Hi Perc,

It is a legitimate question, thanks for asking this.

I can't vouch for all programs, but I can tell you that at BrightShare, we do not take the losses from a previous balance. We carry forward your balance and once you have made your minimum, you will receive what you are entitled to.

    Cheers,
    Shelley Shalmoni

Thanks for the replies, so is it safe to assume that none of the accredited programs here do this?

Sorry Perc don't mean to derail the thread but as a secondary I thought it was worth asking/stating.

What I've always found hard to understand is why certain aff programs have minimum payment thresholds.

I can understand for Bank Wires and even cutting cheques (checks) & or sending these via a courier. I can even go so far as understanding the need to have this on QT payments.

However when it comes to web wallets such as Neteller, Moneybookers, ECO et al, I do not understand the reason why a $100 threshold much worse $200 thresholds are enforced on affiliates.

Although it doesn't affect me these days, I can remember when I started and it was most frustrating having to wait for each program to hit over $100 before I got paid. After all it is the affiliates earnings and not that of the casino program, hey!

What makes this topic even more interesting is some aff programs pay-out the minimum to web wallets even if the affiliate is only owed $30.

And what happen if the affiliate never reaches the pay-out threshold? Does the casino just keep their earnings, I guess so, hey.

    Cheers

    Dave

No worries, good point. I don't see why they would have such a higher minimum than the casinos do. If the min withdrawal is usually around $20 for most webwallets at casinos, why is it so much higher for affiliate programs?

    Hi Perc,

Unfortunately I don't know the procedures of the other programs. I see that Guard Dog made mention that "It's not supposed to happen, but it does. Depends upon the professionalism of the affiliate program". I hope that the accredited programs don't practice this.

No, it would be completely wrong to assume that.
Club World do it for starters.

You already almost answered your own question in your first post:
If a program has Negative Carry Over (NCO) then you will ALWAYS lose your commission if it is less than the minimum payment and players win the next month.
It works the other way too: If in your first (or any) month with a NCO program your player(s) have a big hit, this negative will carry over until you have made enough positive commission to cancel it out.

I have suffered this many times myself; A player has won big and I have gone 12 to 18 MONTHS earning nothing despite having regular player activity.
That is why I have now vowed to never sign-up to another NCO program ever again.
It may well be fine for mega-affiliates who have hundreds of players, but it's just a nightmare waiting to happen for small affiliates.

Thanks KasinoKing. Funny you should mention Club World, as I am sitting at about $125 there, minimum is $150.

Still a week to go though so that can go either way fast.
