Default Microgaming - Out of the US Market!!

I'm sure everyone else got the barrage of emails yesterday exclaiming that Microgaming is leaving the US market

If you are an affiliate who has mostly US traffic, it's time to 'move on' it appears. Microgaming, which has long been the top tier for online casinos, is (as of November 10, Monday) leaving the US market and not allowing any NEW registers to occur.

What a major bummer. Is this pure idiocy or smart? What do you think? Especially since the US now has a president who isn't there solely to cater to the religious faction?

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I don't think it's smart at all. All they really had to do was add Kentucky to their list of blocked IP addresses; why they had to block surrounding states and then ultimately the entire U.S. is beyond me. I wonder if they'll block Canada and Mexico because they border the U.S....

Hopefully the casinos will retain the existing player base for a long time.

A little strange, I thought, was the mail from Grand Prive which states:

So, does this mean that they will no longer pay for past players that are US-based... or that they will not allow ANY US players (even previously registerd)... what's going on here?

Well isn't that just special of them! sounds to me like they are pulling out totally, old and new players, and keeping them all to themselves! It says that all commisions will be paid in nov. and that sounds final to me.

now because of micro, leaving and panicing like this, how do we know that other software won't follow??

this could be the end of all online gaming?

It won't be the 'end of online gaming'

There are plenty of other places to target, but there are also casinos that cater to the US market as well. So MGS is out of the market... I would hope that we have all diversified from the basic Micros since UIGEA anyway.
