    Default Microgaming domain name seizure

If you have "microgaming" in your domain name you have to hand these over to microgaming software systems ?:

I assume you are the registrant of the domain name ‘microgamingxx.com’.

Please rest assured that you are not the only registrant that we have contacted as part of our client’s brand protection activities, which are wide ranging.

In order to achieve a speedy resolution of this matter, please kindly:

    · Provide us with the authorisation code and confirmation that the domain name has been unlocked, so that my client may transfer the domain name to its name; and

    · Sign, date and return to us the undertakings enclosed with our letter.

I look forward to hearing from you and your earliest convenience.

    Yours sincerely,

Ignore them. Don't reply. Don't do anything. Judging by the tone of the letter, they don't sound like lawyers and you are perfectly within your rights to use their trademark (is Microgaming a trademark?) in your domain name providing you are not infringing on that mark or using it to take advantage or confuse customers.

Presuming your domain is something like 'MicrogamingCasinos.org' or similar, they haven't got a leg to stand on. This is of course just my opinion and I am not a lawyer.

Hmmm....it looks like, from that case, the defendant didn't even turn up and defends themselves. Frankly, though, if we are just talking about a domain that isn't online then I would just give it up to them. Why make life more difficult than it needs to be.

It would be so hard to give up a domain name that you spent years working on. There should at least be some compensation given for it, that would only be fair.

Thank goodness I don't have any domain names like this, I don't need any more problems lol

There are probably hundreds or thousands of affiliates / domains containing the software name.

I do not think that Micorgaming's reputation is affected by having those online, their strong arm threats however are.

This is a very strange case indeed. Why casino software provider want to act like that?
