I agree - SEOBook is pretty nice. I hear it is a subscription service now, which is pretty disappointing.
I use both Webmasterworld.com and seochat.com (forums section of both) when I look for SEO info (which is not really all that often anymore).
The reason I don't really look to SEO all that much anymore is because in many cases, great SEO (i.e., using title tags, meta tags, alt tags, keyword density, and all that jazz) works against you.
I can rank easier for a page that 'mistakenly' leaves some of that stuff out than if the page were SEO-exact.
Search Engines don't like pages that try to rank - that is my gut feeling.
