Question I need some input - New RTG Affiliate Program - 24hour Payouts for players

    Hi Everyone,

I'm faced with a difficult decision, and I feel the best people to come up with an answer would be YOU: The Affiliate.

As many are already aware, I'm no longer working with Vegas Regal Casino/Regal Affiliates. I had a good run with them for over a year, we accomplished a lot; the owners are great people and have the right mentality, but I had to move on.

Anyways, now I'm going to be running an affiliate program for a new RTG which will be launched by the BetPhoenix People. This is really exiting for me. The owners have a great attitude, and I feel there is plenty of potential. Players will be paid out in 24 hours and there are many other things that hint to me this is going to be a huge success!

    Sooooo...

I'm getting everything set up. I've been working to make sure our program is as friendly as possible to affiliates and players. Now one of the points is regarding negative carry over and commission percentage. To boil it down, I've been given the choice to implement:

25% Standard Commission with NO Negative Carry Over
30% Standard Commission with Negative Carry Over

Now based on your volume, which would you prefer? Voting is anonymous.

P.S. I'll submit our terms for review here at AGD as soon as we are up and running.

    Kind Regards,
    Nicolas Johnson

I selected 25% with no negative carryover - but I would not, in reality, sign up with such a low percentage 30% is even pretty low, IMO, and there is no way you will sign up a 'large volume affiliate' at that rate.

Maybe I am way off... but, I don't think so

You are 100% right guard dog. But I have yet to see a large volume affiliate get 'standard commission'.

This is just the standard commission, or base. There will be higher commissions for higher volume, and special deals for large volume affiliates.

    Thanks for pointing that out!

No reason to be sorry... I should have been more clear. Thanks for pointing it out! When something is unclear, 9 out of 10 walk away without understanding, only 1 would point it out. So good you pointed it out early! Thanks!

I have been "burned" so many times by NCO that I have vowed to NEVER sign-up to another program with it.

NCO is a nightmare for a low-volume affiliate like me - just one lucky player has wiped out any chance of me receiving any commission for 6-months, 9-months, 12-months, 18-months, and in one case I predicted it would take me 11-years to get back into the black!

These are actual cases which have already happened to me.

One of the programs agree to remove the Big Winner Player from my account.
Another refused to cooperate, so I was forced to removed them totally from my sites, despite me very highly rating them as one of the best casinos on the net.
Tradition Casino introduced NCO retroactively, then refused to compensate effected affiliates (well, me anyway) in any way. Dumped, obviously!

All the ones above asked me to improve visibility of their casinos by moving them up the pages, or putting banners on my home pages etc. to try to bring in more players and so reduce the NCO quicker... Yeah right! Sure I'm going to favour their banners for NO income over the 95% of other casinos I list who don't have NCO!

The few others I still list I'm limping along with to see what happens. Pretty stupid really because I know what is going to happen eventually...

25% minimum on tiered scale is OK-ish for me - it's the same as most MGs and lower than most RTGs & Rivals - but 25% of something is a whole lot better than 30% of nothing!

    KK

PS: I'm going to use the first bit of this post to start a new thread about NCO... I want to know how others feel about it.

I went for 25% and no negative carryover as well. I'm agnostic about NCO generally - I promote CWC pretty heavily and they are probably the most high profile group to have NCO.

However, if I was choosing a new casino to promote, I'd go for one with no negative carryover as a preference. I agree with GuardDog, I think 25% is pretty low, although I think it's low for all affiliates not just the higher tiers.

After all, why promote 'brandnewcasino.com' at 25% when you can promote establishedbrand.com at 30-35%?

When I consider a program to join I just seach the T&Cs for certain phases,
negative carry over is the first one.

With the exception of CWC it is always a deal-breaker for me. The extra 5% is litte compensation for the potential nco loss.
