Default How much traffic should i be getting

hi, i have 4 sites that are all aimed at uk casino players with bonus info etc, all built on wordpress and nicely optimaised for serps, i cant put a link to them because i dont have enough posts but if you google no deposit mobile on google.uk you will see me top or new casino bonuses .co .uk. My question is, how much traffic should i see, i started my sites about 5 months ago and over the past 2 months im seeing between 20- 40 unique visitors to each of my sites per day for a variety of search terms, i made over $1400 in earnings last month and this was the first money i have made from my sites so im very happy, but i want to try and get an idea as to what numbers other webmasters get per day, i really want to here from uk webamasters because i have no idea how big the markets is in the uk, will i ever see over 500+ visitors a day?

I'm not an expert webmaster - but I would say your figures are very good!
After my site had been online 5-months (in 2006) my average was around 10 hits per day.
5 years later my average is now in the 220 - 250 region.
I have never got up to 500, and I don't know what the chances of you achieving that are - but maybe... ?

    Well done!

    Good topic!

I am a small affiliate and I guess my average traffic to sites is 30 to 50 new visitors per day per site. I am happy with the income for that amount of traffic.

I have sites the get 4 or 5 thousands visitors monthly and don't make money, its just more a way for the players to reach out to me if they are in need.

It all depends on what you target and how well you do accomplishing that goal.

    Good luck

You are doing very well 20-40 unique visitors are worth a lot if they are targeted on good keywords, but i think you have figured that our yourself if you made 1400
Keep building pages and links to your websites and consider starting another 5 sites if you have the time. You are doing grate after 6 months i think, at least i would like to be in your place. Good luck with your work.

I know if you are on page 2 of Google, you might as well be on page 100, you will see no traffic there. If you get on page 1 at spots 8, 9, 10, you will see very little traffic there, even for moderate search terms. If you get in the top 3 for a search term, you traffic will shoot up, being at number 1 will get you around 35% of the traffic compared to the #10 spot getting you around 2%

The amount of traffic you are getting is quite decent, especially with the income.

Getting 500 a day will not come easy and it will take quite a while for you to see that traffic.

cheers for the feedback, craig your right about the difference between top half of google and bottom 3, i was amazed when i got a short keyword phrase to number 1 in google recently but turns out it gets very little searchs, funny how a term i thought would be good turned out to be not what your average joe searchs for, more time spent with the google keyword tool i think.

Even with Google keywords you can be surprised. You have to think that it is an estimated tool.

Then you have to think of geo targeted.

    Hi itsblitz,

What your getting so far in traffic is good - some people don't even get that after 12 months, some it takes them 2 or more years. However on the same token some people get 1000 unique a day or more BUT the quality of that traffic is crap.

The more targeted your traffic is to your specific site niche or its offers, the more likely you'll gain sign-ups or at least people looking through your site than leaving within 30 sec.

If you've made $1,400 last month with the sort of traffic your getting, with only having the site/s going for 5 months, I be pretty stoked about that and I dare say a lot of noobie affiliate world be too.

My main sites fluctuates between 450 - 750 unique a day (more traffic Thurs, Friday and Saturday)...However that's been going since 2007. At one point when I had a forum, that including the site and the blog had over 30,000 pages. All those pages combine into a lot of topics and a lot of keywords/phrases.

The longer your site(s) are up, the more long tail phrases Google and other SE's index...So although I may only get 2 or 3 search for a specific phrase per month, the power comes from gain hits on many thousands of these long tails SERPS.

So is possible to grown your traffic but like everything it does take time.

Of course I also have lots of page 1 Google listings, so depending on the phrase that also brings in a good chunk of daily unique visitors.

    Cheers

    Dave

Spend more time "thinking like a player thinks"

You will be pleasantly surprised with your results then!

Yea 20-40 visits a day isn't shabby at all after 5 months. The main thing is the quality of traffic. I would take 40 targeted hits a day spread over a few quality long tailed keywords compared to 500 hits a day for "free no deposit casinos" or similar. You can do just fine with 40 hits a day and if you want more, just duplicate the process that got you to where you are now.
