There will always be a place for pure SEO out there... Videos are definitely en vogue and we need to work on updating our sites to ones with them, but it's not the solution to ranking that's for sure.

I think that videos are going to be important for SEO, but not in the classical SEO sense. I think that the websites will have to be more engaging to the internet readers. The fact that people will watch them, and come back for more will be the most important factor. I believe google is going to start giving more weight from community response. This means that rich, engaging content will rule.

I don't think that the video sitemaps are going to be a major player, but the performance of the page with the video will be.

I am planing to make video tutorials of the different games. That will be new for me and fun as well. As soon as I get my props from ebay I'll be ready to make some test videos. I'll share as soon as I get a few done.

Video's I think are great way to build up repeat visitors.
Great way to provide information and build up a community.

Really anything to keep a visitor longer and get them to interact with the website?

Just know this

google gives you a heavy heavy wieght if you have video on your site. yahoo also. In fact I have some search terms my metacafe video, is ranking over my site !! Youtube.com in now considered the number 2 search engine, over yahoo.com!! Gain good article, im not trying to steal your thunder, just adding in !!

So, if I found an interesting video on YouTube and embedded that video on my site, do you think my rankings would improve for that site? Does the video need to be "mine" for Google to add weight, or will any relevant video help?

I agree... I would love to know more if SEOPants or affcorner know a bit about the video SEO market. I know next to nothing about it Hopefully my first post didn't come across to say I wasn't interested in knowing..... I am very interested.

1. Unique video, embeding for youtube don't help. Let me show you a some real world examples NOT related to gaming, casino etc

Ok what do you see a few searches down ? Now what do you clik on, the PPC or the cool link with video?

well, note that google wants to change your search. My opinion is, the PPC for hotel is more then motel... But I digress...Look at FIRST result after paid results...from metacafe ? Hmmmm..

so 2 different engines, good results. I agree this term is a rather non competitive one, compared to "online casino", but you get the idea....Look at the other results it beats, and you will see the MAIN reason is the video....

Youtube is number 2 search engine now, but is funny..let get side tracked for a second

right now as I post this look at view count, is 655,000ish

When I did it, it was 670k !!

Wow !! 20k visitors in 2 seconds ? Nope, yout ube does once a day updates, try and catch it.....
