Default Getting Started: Writing the Flagship Post

    Hi All

    I'm new to forum.

I'm new to the world of iGaming. I'm excited yet slightly overwhelmed by the volume of information available. Nevertheless, I'm moving forward.

Quick question: I have a selection of casinos that I intend to review to launch my site with. What type of content do you suggest I launch with and why?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, MsVitality -- welcome to the always-interesting world of online casinos.

I think a variety of casinos would be a good idea. Include some casinos that use Microgaming software, some that use Playtech, IGT, NetEnt, Betsoft, and so on. Variety is good.

For your casino reviews, I think readers appreciate factual information and honesty. Write what you personally think about the casino; don't just copy some fluffy ad text provided by the affiliate program.

    Hope that helps... good luck!

    Thanks, Engineer.

I do have a further question. I hope you don't mind.

I'm working with a limited budget. Should I go 'all out' and launch a full on review site? Or, would it be acceptable to launch a site with 3 or 4 key reviews and build on that slowly? I'm thinking of Wordpress with a magazine theme. I am a keen writer hence a post a day is more than doable.

Sure, you could definitely start with a small site, let it get indexed, and add to it over time. Doing it that way gives you an opportunity to see what is working and what isn't, before you put too much time into writing reviews for casinos that might not convert.

Example -- if you are having fantastic luck with one particular casino, then you could add another one with the same software, or the same type of bonus offer, or whatever you think is making it succeed, and then try to duplicate your success.

A post a day is good -- if you do that for 30 days, you'll have 30 pages before you know it.

I have several strategies that I tell people in our Mentor program to employ when starting up a new site. The mentor program is currently inactive due to zero time, but here is what I would have suggested had you been a part of the program:

    1. Have your content ready before launching the site
    2. When you launch the website, hit harder initially to 'tell' googlebot to index the site frequently
    3. Employ the following posting strategy:

    * For the first 2-3 weeks, post 2-3 times per day
    * For the next 1-2 weeks, post 1-2 times per day
    * For the next 1-2 weeks, post 2-3 times per day.

After this you can post *at minimum* 1 time per day, but it is preferable to stagger that and run some 2/day posts.

This is just a good way to get your site indexed and ranking. If you have your articles pre-written, then you can accomplish this easy. If you are dedicated, then you can do this without pre-writing articles... however, I have found most in the mentor program will stop after 1 month if I do not lay out a many month plan with pre-written articles.

    Good Luck!

Thank you Guard Dog. My gut tells me that this approach will be instrumental in a sound content and SEO strategy. I can always outsource if the content load becomes too much.

    Default about your 1st post

don't write content optimized for any kind of high concurrency terms like "online casino" or "casino bonuses". go for long tail staff. you can find your long-tails in google suggestions.
