Default Fake 7Red Affiliate Manager - BEWARE

    Hello all,

I found out today that i've been scammed by a guy pretending to be an affiliate manager from 7Red Affiliates. He goes by the name of Davy Wahrheit.

He contacted me via my site wanting to recruit me sometime in mid December 2011. I checked their website and upon seeing that the program is certified at AGD, i gladly agreed to register. It was rather strange however as unlike the usual registration, where i'd have to fill in the details myself, Davy requested that i gave him the username and password that i want and that he'd register for me so i could get the deal he offered.

Earlier today, i couldn't log in to my account. I sent an email to support only to be given a new password. I thought it was strange that the password (that i was asked to choose) was changed. What was the point of letting me choose in the first place? Besides, it has only been a couple of months since i joined. So i asked the affiliate manager who had given me the new password, Rudy, if i could ask why i wasn't notified. He claimed the password was changed with notification but they didn't have my contact details and he went further asking who i was contacted by when i joined.

I replied with the story above and a minute later Rudy responded that that was a fraud. Some guys had pretended to be them and that was why they had to block some accounts.

I haven't been in this industry for long there're still plenty to learn but pretending to be an affiliate manager like this is not only not tolerated it is also extremely despicable. Thankfully (weird i'm saying thankfully) there were no revenues made for that two months.

Normally, i'd only do a check on the affiliate program. I never never thought of doing a check on affiliate managers. Do you?

And not forgetting, i want to say thanks to Rudy again for all his help and super fast replies today. I'd like to point out that Rudy was extremely kind and helpful i am happy for him and his program that they managed to catch these buggers on time.

Well, thank you for listening i just want to share this with you all and hope that you aren't a victim of this.

    Goodnight.

Forget it.. I think that I am confused...

The person who contacted me was Rudy and was giving me a separate 7Red account (not really sure why), but seems on the up and up. Did create a new account for me. Not 100% sure why.

Sorry for the confusion. I was so tired last night i didn't read twice what i wrote. I could have explained it better perhaps..

If it was Rudy, you should be fine. He's the real affiliate manager. It's Davy the fake manager that you've got to worry about. Going around pretending to be an AM and recruiting affiliates so he could get what you make is downright despicable.

Fake AM Davy Wahrheit's email is davy@7redaffiliates.fr

Rudy said that all the 'suspicious accounts' have been locked. If you could still log in to yours, then you're not a victim. I'm thinking that these recruitment spree didn't go that far back. If you signed up recently, meaning not more than two to three months, then you should check your account.

What's the deal with this?! I'm now getting Rudy getting in touch with me telling me that he needs to set me up with access to 7Red's VIP program ... and this can only done manually?

How many affiliate programs have 7Red got?!

I don't understand it either, to be honest. Rudy set me up (even though I already had an account). Then Rudy contacted me again to set me up again. It's all very weird, IMO.

To be honest, it really puts me off Red7. There are just so many grey areas about the program. I thought the other issues in the thread had been answered (if not totally resolved) and now a week after signing up to the program, I'm being asked to provide sign up details to another network that only Rudy can sign me up to.

I just don't like all this cloak and dagger stuff - it doesn't really instill confidence!

I have no idea how many affiliate programs they've got. I'm confused myself. But it seems that if it's Rudy that's handling your account, you should be alright. I think. I hope.

One thing for sure, i don't understand why they want to do all these extra works setting up your account for you to get the promised commission. 7 Red really needs a new program. Or just simply stop with all these double signups. With the current one they've got, it clearly annoys webmasters and attracts people like Davy Wahrheit.

    Hi,

Rudy is our affiliate manager and any email received from 7red.com is legit.

The fake one used a different domain so just watch out from such cases.

This was the first time someone tried to impersonate as an affiliate manager. We have a lot of affiliates who recruit sub affiliates but they do it in a legit way and not trying to pretend being an affiliate manager.

We will do our best to avoid such cases in the future.

    Best Regards,
