Experience of social signals?

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone implemented the use of social signals into their marketing efforts and seen a positive result? I'm still contemplating whether or not I should start doing this, and if it would make a difference to the rankings in Google.

Is it important to use Twitter? Do YouTube videos also help rankings? Would love to hear what you have personally done and if its brought any good results. I know that some of the top people for casino keywords are using Twitter, and posting videos on YouTube at the same time (and also posting their YouTube videos as a tweet in their Twitter accounts).

Surely they must be doing this for a reason? Otherwise it seems like a lot of effort for no reason?

We have been tweeting stuff for a couple of years for little result. I am highly skeptical of anyone just dumping tweets pointing to youtube videos of slot machines for example. That is very likely to be a waste of time.

Its a social medium so you really have to have someone interacting back and forth with the people you are tweeting to if you want to be successful. And that can be time consuming.
