IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION: Canbet Casino

Please note that as of today, 30 June 2011, Canbet Casino will no longer be operational.

The decision was made to re-focus on Canbet's core business of Horse Racing and Sports Betting, and this means that all available resources will be diverted to these channels.

We kindly request that all affiliates currently promoting Canbet Casino remove the marketing material from their sites as soon as possible.

In the meantime, traffic from affiliates will be diverted to Canbet's Sports betting site, where you will still be credited with any revenue generated from registrations and play. Casino creative hosted by CommissionKing will also be replaced with Sports creative, so as not to leave broken images on your website in the event that you are unable to implement the change right away.

We thank you for your support and promotion of Canbet Casino, and hope to continue working closely together marketing Canbet's Sports and Racing products.

I wouldn't normally post in a thread like this, but it says above that traffic from affiliates will be diverted, meaning traffic from affiliates wouldn't arrive on the canbet casino site, right? Only direct traffic?

Affiliate traffic arrives at can'tbet.com but the site has a link a "casino" page (left hand side) with referback banners.

I hope this site will end up in a can so everybody can kick it .......

Cobus from Referback let me know they see no reason why their banners should not be on that page........first time I am very disappointed in RB.........

Here are the reason referback agreed to continue in this relationship with Canbet:

1. Canbet has communicated the reasons for the closure of casino.canbet.com to their affiliate partners
2. Canbet has agreed to honor the payments due to affiliates

We believe they are honoring your earnings agreement and as such their actions are above board.

With all due respect... that is utter BOLLOCKS!

They gave affiliates precisely ZERO days notice to take their banners down.
(The e-mail about closure was sent on the very day they closed).
In the meantime any potential players clicking on affiliates' links & visiting the Canbet site were getting "shaved off" to other casinos with different affy tags!

FYI, This doesn't actually effect me at all and I don't really give a toss, but this is/was really scummy behaviour IMPO.
