Default Canadian Province problems launching gambling site

Not sure if this latest development has already been mentioned so forgive if I duplicate. The province of British Columbia as of yesterday just launched their own online gambling site. For those who our unaware British Columbia is located in Western Canada.

Anyway the playnow dot com is provincial regulated and is already experiencing some technical difficulties.

For those interested in reading the latest here more info.

The new casino and sports betting website was launched Thursday morning to great fanfare, but shortly afterward the site was shut down.
It was later revealed that some gamblers had seen the personal information of others on the site, including the names, contact information and, in some cases, credit card and bank information.

    Hey guys,

Calvin was interviewed by CBC TV in Vancouver about the PlayNow launch and he believes the launch disaster is actually the best case scenario for all the private companies. This move validates that online gaming is just another form of legitimate entertainment and that the private companies are the ones that are the best at ensuring safety and responsible gaming.

Does that mean PlayNow won't be back?

It's still down as of this moment I just checked.

yup they are up and running.

But as was pointed out the casino is ONLY for people residing inside BC.

They are bringing a new poker client online in the next few months that, if it comes off as advertised, will be a great big step forward in online poker at least imo.
