Exclamation AGD Ideas Stolen - where does it end?

I don't even know what to say, guys... I thought (truly thought this) that CAP (CasinoAffiliatePrograms.com) was out to help affiliates.... I am an affiliate. I created a unique system in AGD. I spent A LOT of my own money to build this system FOR affiliates only.

And now this: xxhttp://casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/announcing-cap-alerts-terms-amp-conditions-updates.31590.html?

I sincerely hope this is a poor attempt at humor. Lou (Professor at CAP) knows very well how long and how much effort I have put into AGD - I have talked with him on numerous occasions.

If this is true... (and I hope it is not), then I hope affiliates rally behind AGD. We are a system designed for affiliates. If a program is 'not right' for some reason or another.... they cannot pay us to get certification. We are made up of honest affiliates who strive to keep other affiliates 'in the know'.

I am signing off for tonight.... very disappointed.... very sad. This is truly not the way we should do business.

Hey GD,

I can't even tell you how sorry I am that this is going on!

You do such a great job for all of us in the industry and it is GREATLY appreciated!

All I can suggest is that you keep doing what your doing for the people in the biz. The ones that support you will always be there for you.

For CAP to steal your entire concept is beyond belief for me. I would suggest that all affiliates bouycot all confrences and remove membership from CAP if they are members there.

For a good man like you that is just trying to help the affiliates in the world.....how can they do this?

Let me know if I can help in any way !

Joe

God,

The bigger forums like CAP are the one that are supposed to be protecting the smaller affiliates from this kind of attack.

they suck!

I was quite surprised to see the announcement over at CAP. I thought CAP wasn't going to duplicate AGD's terms alert system; I thought this wasn't even an issue anymore.

In any case, AGD still has quite a lot of information that many affiliates will find useful. For example, AGD's careful review and subsequent labeling of program T&Cs as "affiliate friendly" or "predatory" is very useful, in my opinion.

Your 100% correct Engineer,

AGD is right's on target and that why the concept has been stolen from him from a forum that should be protecting this kind of behavior.

Just my 2 cents

Yes, I was assured by Lou himself that CAP wouldn't steal AGD's idea. I guess I should have known better.

Thanks for the words, guys. Still bummed this morning that this all is coming about. I wish I had CAP's money to throw towards AGD. Unfortunately, it's been slow going as I can only spend so much making AGD better.

What is needed is more affiliates to post more frequently. There are still tons of lurkers that need to come out of the weeds to help us keep AGD alive and benefiting affiliates.

This is my own personal thought: I don't trust CAP running Terms Alerts. Why? Because they can be bought over there. Look at BCP when that whole debaucle came about and all CAP wanted was to certify them (yes, for a huge paycheck).. They were ready to do that WAY before that program made good strides. At AGD, BCP is not certified. Even if they paid my mortgage they wouldn't be certified unless their terms were changed.

Anyway..... again - signing off a bit pissed off (I'm more angry than sad now at this whole theft deal).

I am shocked.

This is not fair at all. It's easy to finance such development with a bigger budget. I don't trust CAP's TC reviewing system. CAP is run by Affiliate Program's money therefore it cannot be an objective measurement.
CAP is not an independent organization because it is financed by affiliate programs.

I am really disappointed

I agree 100% with you regarding the trust factor. CAP (PAP) and GPWA both accept and certify programs based on financial sponsorship. AGD still stands alone! Those of us who know that difference will continue to put our trust and support behind AGD.

The best way to counter the competition presented by CAP is by educating the affiliates who may not understand this very important difference.

Tell us what we can do to help....

To start, I would be happy to display the AGD badge on my sites (if there is a badge available) and I'm sure most others would agree to do the same.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the sentiment I'll keep on doing what we do, no problem with that. I do not know what motive CAP had to do this... they wouldn't even had understood the concept of Terms Alerts if AGD didn't invent the idea.

Should have seen it coming, though:

1. GPWA Newsletter format => CAP Newsletter Format (Nearly identical back then)

2. GPWA Portal Certification (with verification) => CAP Portal Certification (with verification)

3. APCW Audits => CAP Audits

4. AGD Terms Alerts => CAP Terms Alerts

5. What's next? Who's ideas/concepts are safe?

All I have to say.... Watch out affiliates. I will no longer be part of a place (CAP) that steals ideas from legitimate affiliates. At this point they are NOT looking out for affiliates, but only for their bottom line and scruples play no part in their game.
