Warning to all - Webmaster renting email lists - Beware!!

Today i got an email from a webmaster who wanted to do a link exchange. I thought nothing of it until I saw he CCed me in a list along with many other webmasters.

Of course this is not a good idea since i never gave him permission to share my email address in the first place. I kindly replied and thought nothing of it.

Well low and behold someone from the list proceeded to join in and reply all. His offers were to sell advertise space. No problem....

But!!! - Then he said he can rent a email list of 35K players. This is highly unethical and i wanted to warn everyone here to stay clear of anyone who offers these services.. its all spam and you will likely be targeted for more harassment.

I would like to point out that when reviewing this persons sites - he is plastered with William Hill links.
Based on history from some previous posts here on spam, and unethical seo practices, and blackhat seo, along with selling of email lists i think if anyone receives emails from this list best stay away!!!

Email 2 another person on the list - selling or renting email lists

Thank you for contacting me about exchanging links. I'm currently not doing any 'link exchange' with my sites but I am offering a slot or two for links to be placed on my homepages for a small fee. I can offer a text link at the bottom of the page mostly for SEO purposes, a more contextual text link in the 'testimonials', your own article and/or more prominent positions on the page.

All my sites are gambling related and most deal with a specific sector of gambling (poker, bingo, sports betting, casino, etc). A homepage link from a gambling specific website will do wonders for your search engine placement.

I'm also renting out my email list (collected from the above sites) to a few people who are interested. I have about 35,000 emails in the list.

Please stop email us with your unethical spam and renting of email lists.

This is a highly unethical practice and frowned apon in the affiliate
community of which you claim to represent.

Please note - selling or renting email lists without the persons
permissions is a terrible business practice.

Do not email us again please. We do not and will never support such
criminal webmaster behaviour.

ugh.. these kinds just bug the crap out of me. Not to mention my AGD email was stolen either by an affiliate or an affiliate program and marketed to spammers.

Gets worse every day. We all need to band together and NOT purchase these lists. I don't even respond to link emails anymore because it tends to increase my spam-level.

I agree - just recently since i joined a couple of aff programs i noticed the same spam to all my sites at the same times everyday. I cant say for certain who it is - but have ideas.

These lists though - they seem to also target webmasters as players. So if you do not join their aff program they try and get you to be a player.. LOL

Like i have time to gamble - No way !!

If you need AGD the emails i can send them over to you anytime. Their real names are on them so if by chance you need I have them.

Hopefully Greek does some picking into them! and includes all the sites,
on his new site about rogues and spammers and scammers.

Feel free to send it to me. I would definitely like to know who this is and try to correlate it to spam mails I have received. I keep all, so it should be easy to correlate, if possible.

I'm sure Greek will be able to do a lot more, though
