Just one of the reasons I love the wagershare earnings model. As long as the players play, you make money :)

Totally agree :)

Only have to take a look at this thread, to see, affiliates madly checking stats in the final EOM hours. I was guilty of that for years too. But in the end...

there is nothing you can do about it, so I let it go.

No point getting sick over it and this type of continued stress and worry will make you sick, very sick.

If you were around when some aff programs use to HAMMER the bonuses (5- 10G's in bonuses - and then finally got a clue and axed them) on the last day of the month wiping out all earnings You (or at least I) still have to check.

I've been around for close on 15 years. While it's a real sh#t being wiped out by manager bonuses (RTG) or players getting luck on freebies etc, worrying and stressing about it, wont change jack. The way I see it affiliates have 2 choices.
  1. Either stay with a program cause you trust they're not shafting you or...
  2. Pull their links and promote someone you do trust.
I don't see the point in stressing over stuff you can't control. Reiterating if you think your getting HAMMERED drop the program, simple :D

I suppose the level of stress is directly proportional to how much you need the money, if that's the case it might be time to rethink your finances. The real solution is not to put yourself in that position in the first place.

slotplayer is 100% right. I try to keep 3-6 months of expenses in a savings account.. Knowing how unpredictable this industry can be. So if I go a few months with no income, it will be alright. But THIS month i just sent a much fatter check to the IRS for income taxes.. A bit more then i expected.. I get nervous it my savings drops below my 3 month mark.

But yes, after you get your savings and bills in check.. It more or less becomes... just business.

Yes I did as well. I remember the good old days when there would be a little return coming my way but those days are long gone.

I have a certain goal and the stress trying to obtain it is a lot, and I have control over it being there or not. But I find all things in life that are worth it take a lot of effort to get. Unfortunately I am the type of person that needs stress to maximize my effort. This industry really "suits" me, like a deck of cards with a bunch of muffins on them.

For me the trick is to not let it become full-on stress,. but fuel for a fire that must burn.

Take 100 noobies, within their first 12 months, that 100 dramatically drops and maybe you'd be left with < 10 still plugging along. The rest give up, throwing it in the too hard basket. Then again, if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

this industry is very easy money, despite any short comings.

I agree there are shortcomings but by hedging your risks and working hard, you can still achieve an income which most small businesses with a few staff, would envy ;)

If I've learned one thing... It's don't become complacent and drop the ball. Your only valuable to an affiliate program when your pulling players, so never, ever put all your eggs in one basket. I learnt that one the hard way!

With a little under 12 hours to go - this is when I get crazy.
Is a player going to deposit a big chunk of change and get a big bonus and screw up my entire month? Wipe out all of my earning ?

Is a player going to Hit Big and screw up my entire month?

Does an aff program think, ' this guy has made too much lately, lets give some free bonuses to some fake players"

Is that sports player going to hit that 100.00 parlay at 30/1

All of these things have happened to me in the past, so now , unfortunately, I OCD click, update, watch - click, update, watch and repeat
There should be an affiliate stat-checking rehab center of this forum, I hope the affiliate programs will ad a self exclude option for checking stats, I used to do this when I first started out (not too long ago) now I just use the time to work on my site as much as possible and check the stats first thing on a morning. I only use about 6-7 providers so its not too much of a big job.

Having said that 2/7 of the accounts have been reset to 0 thanks to the luck of a couple of players, just glad this is not negative rev-share deals :D

I work with 70+ operators and it takes literally a full day (8+ hours) to check my stats. In a good month 10% of them will be worth the effort!
Anyway, apart from the stress avoidance, that's another reason why I only check mine after the month end!

Same as WagerPod, I only do a few providers at a time.

Overall spending is down from the holiday and winter season. Anyone else seeing somewhat less play lately?
