Lol way to live up to your name...

But I would disagree. I put no money into my sites other then buying content from time to time. And when compared to any other job, I find the work far from borning, in fact I find it exciting at times.

My advice is to come into this as a hobby, and if you enjoy it you will never be wasting your time. If however you find it is a lot of "work" and not the enjoyable kind. I would suggest you spend your hours working on something you do enjoy.

I meant it has become more difficult to become and remain succesfull in our industry these days. Als these hackers that copy your content are a PITA.

It is not a 'hard post count'. It is based upon an algorithm that determines 'quality posts'. I can manually switch you to a full member account - just please do not abuse :)

Exactly the same as me - except I gave up my day job in 2008. ;)
I consider I have been EXTREMELY lucky though - as I have very few skills and don't work anywhere near as hard as I ought to.

KK
I also feel extremely lucky as before this I was just a manager at a movie theater for about 6 years. Then went from job to job hating everything else I did. The freedom this provides is perfect for my lifestyle, however I have somewhat grown accustom to the income so that if this ever falls apart, I don't know what else I can do! I am nowhere near qualified to make the income I'm earning now working for anyone else.

As you said before it's not just luck but diligence that got you to where you are. Talking to my housemates and friends their response is "F!#$ That!" when I tell them what is involved. At the same time they are not satisfied with their work lives. My feeling about being an employee for the next 10 years and making money for others while I slog my guts out is "F!#$ That!" lol

I'm curious as to how others got into this as society doesn't exactly pitch us on this career. I found it because I started searching to find out what opportunities were online in terms of commission based work as that is what I have been doing. All I knew about were the weight loss and health supplement affiliate programs that so many people seem to be into and which I was not going to do.

I started off promoting small business stuff, ways to make money online (for others). Then somehow hit this niche (2006). Took about 6 months to make any money, but once I did I was hooked.

When I started I got Zero support lol... Everyone told me it was a waste of time, but that's the kind of person I am... It only provided motivation.. Up until I got my first player and had a thousand in earnings... Waiting for the payout everyone kept telling me it was a scam and that they would never pay me...

Long story short lol Now I buy the beers ;)

Assistant - You are on the right track! Starting is the step you have already taken that 90% of people will never do. My advice to you would be, next get some content up! Do some research between here (the affiliate programs) and casinomeister (the casinos from a player prospective) and knock out about 50 or so articles; between casino reviews, bonus information, how to play games, and tips. That will get you a good foot in the door with Google, and put you on the right track to what it takes to survive here. 50 might seem like a lot, but if you are serious try 5 a day, and within 10 days time you will have a nice starter site.

When I first started I will killing it with articles, I would spend a good 12 hours a day between that, reading, research and design.. Make your articles unique, have fun with them... Try to find something someone might want to see, that no one has written about yet. The more creative you are the better.. I miss the energy I had in the early days... I still enjoy it, and when I get started I don't stop, but for the most part I put in maybe 3-4 hours a day... I SHOULD do more but it works.

A++ advice RyanWeb! I am like a goldfish in the ocean right now lol so good to have those guidelines to follow from someone who has made it work. Do people actually want to read a lot of info? I've always heard that people skim if there's a lot on a webpage. My Mr Green review that I put up I tried to keep succinct but maybe I'm heading up the wrong creek?

I would agree people skim when reading.. and while you should write for people.. I also keep Google in mind. and Google loves unique, well written information...

That said, this is what I have been doing lately.. I try to make each article around a 500 word average.. (not exact, change them up... some 400 some 600 and sometimes ill throw in a nice 1000 word article or two on my site.. ) Make them articles you can be proud of... Now for the 90%+ of people who won't read the entire thing and just want to get to the point: Add a sidebar of facts from your article, to make the skimmers happy :)

Yes, thank you RyanWeb.

I wanted to get the design sorted now I will start on content.

I have scrapped the lame landing page I had. Instead a non country specific page loads and browsers and select Australia or New Zealand from a dropdown if they wish. What do you guys think?

I should have said non country specific site loads as they are three different sites with their own pages.

Got my first paying customer during the early hours last night! :))) They chose 32Red.

Might not seem like much but I'm excited anyway as I only found out about this and started working on a website a few weeks ago.

I have a question as well for anyone. One other person viewed my site last night and checked out my Mr Green review but then bounced. In case a customer does actually go to a casino site later or simply Googles them instead of clicking my links I was thinking of placing something like an invisible iframe that loads the casino site when they go to my review page. This way a cookie is stored regardless. Has anyone done this?

BTW congratulations on your first player. I measure progress by 'sign-ups to deposits' not by how much money you do or don't make by a player. If you are getting signups and deposits, your marketing right!

I would think that would against some TOS.. As I think the player actually has to 'Click' through.. That would count as a "fraudulent click" I believe.

Thanks Ryan,

I will definitely avoid doing that then. Thanks for the heads up.
