Well you can't say I wasn't warned!!!

We are big fans of the William Hill chain of casinos and feature them greatly on http://slots-guide.eu
We had heard their affiliate scheme left a lot to be desired but our policy is honesty and doing the best thing for the players so Will Hill remains a top recommendation on our site.

We have checked our player records closely and heres the situation:

It has taken 3 months for the negative carry over to be cleared.
During those 3 months they have actually charged us interest on the NCO!!!!!! About 5% per month. What the heck seriously???

Now as of January the NCO was cleared and a payment should be made out to us this month. We will keep you updated on if that happens.

But... now the previous NCO is listed back in our account... Not sure what is happening there but again we will keep you posted.

All in all not a very promising start and definately still very much in the rogue affiliate category!

Agreed. Absolutely no good will come of continued promotion of this group. Good for them, yes. Bad for you and all other affiliates.

Another Affiliates United (Casino Pays) story. I hope your affiliate manager sorts it out for you. I gave up on this group many years ago.

A couple of months before WH bought cpays and their casinos (in 2009 IIRC), Joyland Casino ripped off a woman who won a $4 million jackpot. They only paid her about $2 million, tried to make her play through the winnings like a bonus, and pocketed the rest. When WH took over they refused to do the right thing and pay her and instead said they bought the assets of the company but not the debts. Which is total bullshit. If thats not enough reason to not work with them I don't know what is. You aren't doing players a favour by referring them there. You are referring them to a shonky business run by unethical crooks.

We shall see. Income from the website isn't our top priority but being shafted would sting nonetheless.

what is it you're a fan of?

Whats not to like? Will Hill main site has everything, sports, live casino, bingo, playtech, wms, microgaming, netent, etc.
I can usually make a good profit 3 days out of 4 there. Easy money. Plus payouts are in our ewallets or bank accounts within 12 hours.

We never had any issues with them and we hold accounts at all of their brands. Had a few technical issues but they were always resolved swiftly and fairly.
Their reputation from the past doesnt apply anymore and maybe if we had started a few years earlier we would have been wary but going on today we feel safe.

We shall see what happens with aff utd though. Maybe if we can generate more traffic we will have more bargaining power over them?

Last time I looked at them was several years ago but they did email me a couple times to promote them over the last 24 months.

The NCO is bad enough but charging 5% interest is pretty underhanded. It's not a loan. Is the interest compounded?

Wait until you have massive NCO to get over and they drop you to 5% commission.

I was just about to sign with them today, but seems to be a lot of horror stories but still many affs with their banners?.. Willam hill of the pre online gaming days was a trusted firm.

More traffic generated = more players for them to shave and harder for you to spot it.
I "worked" with them in the past (promoted their casinos, but got NO players according to them) - never again.

Most of the "Big Names" seem to hold affiliates in very low regard. I can only assume they have such a big presence at shows like LAC so they can fool yet more affiliates to sign-up to eventually get robbed. :(

Of course reputation from the past applies now. It is how you evaluate the good from the bad. You're saying you are comfortable with them yet you posted this thread. Your instincts are telling you one thing but you ain't listening to them.

You are correct of course, definitely conflicted.
Its very early days for us so at the moment it doesn't matter that much either way but we need to focus on this group a bit more rather than going with blind faith and hoping for the best.

The affiliate manager hasnt been in touch yet about our queries but benefit of the doubt due to LAC for a day or two is only fair.

Update: the silence from will hill and aff utd is deafening. I have given them all the chances to answer my questions and concerns but I am getting nothing back from them.

I am including William Hill in all communications in case their managers are unaware of their affiliate schemes issues but I fear they just dont give a crap which is not the sort of company I can respect.

My trust levels are dropping by the day and therefore their billing on our websites is dropping fast.

Well they have come back in for discussions and offered a non-standard deal and answered all our queries.
So call us naive but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt and see how things go over the next month or two.

You start a thread which among other issues, entails WillHill profiting (interest) from your NCO.

15 years in the industry, never heard of such a rogue practice by charging affiliates interest on NCO.

Seasoned affiliates have told you why to avoid WH, yet, your now keeping them on site. It's you perogative to promote who you like.

However when WH comes and bites your ass (and they will) because your an affiliate, maybe then you'll realise it would have been better referring those lost players to an ethical aff program, instead of these crooks!
