Okay so I run a handful of sites, I usually host them each on a septate hosts for SEO purposes. Yes the usefulness of that can be debated but thats not really what I am asking about..

My question is, (assuming septate hosts are helpful in my case) would hosting with the same webhost, but using different cloudflare name servers be the same as using septate hosts in the eyes of Google, in terms of SEO?

I like to keep some of my sites septate, using different WMT accounts, hosts and everything.. So would Google know the sites are sharing the same host if using different cloudflare accounts / name servers?

Thoughts?

I use the same host, I remember years ago that there was a myth about shared ip or hosts, wmt etc, which was more related to spamming.. if you have a good site it should not matter if it's under the same host or not

Separate WMT accounts and you logon with the same computer (IP) this will not hide your identity. Same as when logged on to Google plus when using Youtube you see the history, different vids and your preferred channels.

I'm of the same mind as @inspiration. Google knows. And as @Frank mentioned - back in the day, separate IP classes and all that likely mattered as Google didn't have it all figured out yet. Now it's much different, IMO. For that reason I moved my domains all to the same hosted server a few years back and didn't notice any dip in rankings (mind you - I am not hugely ranking anywhere).

As @falseadoom said, you can always change your nameserver to GoDaddy (or other) name servers.. that's not a big deal. I usually do that instead of using my hosts NS anyway. Cloudfare is big enough that if you want anonymity, they somewhat provide that. But you can bet Google has you mapped out somehow, some way.

Yes each WMTs account was setup with a proxy.. Each with its own info @ domain.com email. And I really only use them to submit the sitemap and then don't go back to visit.. I use Piwik for all my tracking. Otherwise I don't really use much in the way of Google accounts for this reason.. Maybe I am overly cautious, and maybe it doesn't matter.. But I get decent traffic between most of my sites evenly.. Kinda scared to change anything much.. But finding quality hosts at decent prices is becoming few and far between (note that most of my sites are hosted outside of the US now)..

Research is the key. Implimenting such actions without it, can, and usually does, backfire. VPN is your friend. Yes... I'm being cryptic, for a very good reason ;)

To answer to the initial question:
- Yes google can find out that you host on same server, even with difference cloudflare servers - also due to large use of cloudflare for PBN sites I would stay out of it, unless you run serious sites and you need the service, things to know also: SOA records, IP zone owners, emails, whois, registrars....list is over 100 points

cloudflare

Ummm crimeflare :D
If I need a CDN, I've been using maxCDN... otherwise for AU/NZ traffic I find Serversareus.com.au are on-the-ball.

the guy wants to have undetectable network, it is as simple as that....and impossible - if someone decides to track you down they will - no matter what :))0

It's not impossible... Just like every box that's connected to the www, is not bullet proof.
The time/cost however, would be the reason not to pursue it, least not for what the OP wants it for ;)

Nothing is impossible :)

I have a few different hosts, that I would like not to be connected. If one site gets slapped I would prefer to have others not associated. You assume Google knows everything, and while I agree it collects a great deal of information you have to consider it must have a high level of certainty before applying a penalty. (note I do not engage in blackhat, maybe overly cautious and un-trusting of Google)

While not 100% bullet proof, I use privacy protect on each domain with smaller registers. I use a proxy when accessing my sites and I avoid most G services now. I have just one wmt account at the moment, and only use it on my sites within the same host.

As far as what Google can connect, now how would they know for fact I am the owner? I could be a web designer, seo comapny (or any other professional who may hold a large portfolio of clients). Not everyone who manages a site is considered the owner.. A graphics guy may have a large portfolio of sites he manages, I doubt google would lump them all together as his..

Anyway, just some thoughts.. No one can know for sure what Google knows or thinks, but so far things have been working well for me so I am hesitant to make major changes without a great deal of research.

does it all mean if i have 2 or 3 total different domains and one gets hit or has crap content will then the other 2 domains or sites get worse ranking? Does it all follow or what can you do then? Since i started trying to do daily free spins or promotions update i have almost same content i post on 2 domains. So interested to know how that effects my rankings?

From what I found in research google will only rank 1 of my domains better and other one will not is that correct? I do see both my domains show up first page sometimes when doing seaches on long or short tail key words though. But just been wondering exactly how it works out. I have google webmaster and domains connected in that. Also use the google crawl "Fetch as google" seems to help my ranking many times but not sure if its needed to paste links in every single day.....

I have found that if you have similar content on both sites, yes Google will usually rank one well and dismiss the other.. This may not always be the case, but it makes sense as to why google would only want one webmaster to have one site on one particular topic. No one can tell you exactly how it works or why, but based on my experience you should only rank for the same keywords on one of the domains.

For "best practices" purposes, if both are ranking well for similar keywords.. I would keep things as is, but start to develop the sites in separate directions. I don't think google minds if you dedicate one site to US players, and the other to UK players for example, with different content on each.. But if you have one site that ranks for interchangeable keywords with similar content, such as

site 1: online casino bonuses
site 2: online casino promos

Then I think you may run into a problem later down the line.

Just my personal opinion, but I also think its okay to experiment and see what works best, just be cautious when experimenting with your money site... Another reason I like to keep things as separate as possible :)
