Hi all,

How do you get an accurate measure of human traffic on your site?

Everything just seems to be an estimate o_O

CDN tells me one thing, my host tells me another. My host should be the most accurate but it still seems off.

Can you get accurate stats?

I use Piwik and like it. That's just me, though, and just another way to figure it all out. Nothing will be 100% accurate.

Everything is bullcrap except Google Analytics. Even webmaster tools reports differently.

I use both stats counter and GA. GA has in-page Analytic which shows click percentage of site pages. I can see that 3.7% of visitors clicked the Real Time Gaming Casinos link and 1.8% clicked the MG Casinos links, Rival received 1.2% of the clicks. I have two pages that received 32% or more of the clicks, those are the money pages. Unfortunately it does not show any click thru data for non site links like links to the casinos. The Top Game and Playtech casino pages received the least clicks.

I used stats counter (freebie) for a quick peek. It displays a wealth of info about the individual visitors at a glance.

So this visitor I'm looking at right now:

I can see they came in through Google Search, the page was at position #7, (unfortunately the kw is now blocked by Google).

I can see where their from, what time they visited, the browser make/version used, their screen res, the OS, the IP, their internet Host, how many visits they made and all the pages on my site they visited in the order they visited them.

However, the best feature of stats counter is it shows what exit link(s) they clicked, in this case it was a deckmedia casino link, hopefully they joined. I can also match the exit link click with that in the affiliate programs back end to make sure its tracking.

While there may be differences in the # of visitors between the different stats programs, for me precise accuracy is not that important all that matters is if the number of visitors is moving upwards or not.

Piwik shows all that stuff too. I always check outlinks with Piwik to see where my traffic is going and then to check signups. I don't have to put any code on there for it to track either (no specific link code, that is).

I think you mentioned Piwik before (in an other post) and I did check it out. It did look good. I'm using stats counters only because I added it years ago when there wasn't much around other than the host stats. I'm just used to it now.
