Any body have any thoughts on these and whether they are any good? Searching on Godaddy shows that the best ones have of course all gone, or they are for sale for 1000s. Does it mean they are worthwhile though?

A domain is only as worthwhile as the content developed for it. There is nothing wrong with these domain extensions.
We have one and it brings in traffic as much as a .com domain would. My advice would be to stick to .com domains
as they are the most recognizable, but if you can find a domain name with a newer extension that perfectly describes
what your site offers, then I don't see a problem with it. The problem nowadays is that so many good domain names
are taken already.. so you may need to be a bit more creative with newer domain extensions to find one that works.

I belive a .com domain has more value on it than any other domains. I have / had a portfolio of 400+ different domains at best and thouse ones ending with .com instead of for example .se - tend to rank better overall.

Ofcource it also depends if you aim on specific keywords, with a direct kw domain. I made tests with a .com and a .se domainan and the .se worked much better than the .com.

I also think a .com domain has more value in branding and trust.

I can't justify the high price of a dot casino domain, when a dot com would be just as good.

I own BigWin.casino. I have had multiple offers on it. There is value, but BiwWin.com would be probably at least 5x more. BigWin.casino is 4 figure value, bigwin.com is easily 5 figures if not more.
