We want to start by wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and thank you very much for all your hard work over the year.
As a thank you we have rolled out a new and improved standard reward plan. From December 1st we have increased standard revenue share plan on Sportsbook to 30% flat. On the Exchange we have increased tiered commission from 3 years to 5 years as below:
Year 1 – 30%
Year 2 – 20%
Year 3 – 15%
Year 4 – 15%
Year 5 – 15%
We are also happy to announce the addition of bingo to the affiliate program, meaning you can now earn revenue full cross product revenue share on all of our products. Rev share will be paid at 25%.

Makes me laugh. Basically Betfair are saying - you know what, we ripped you off for the past few years had you not noticed we only paid you for referral commissions for 3 years, and didn't give you cross product earnings, and for those of you who left us for dead to promote other advertisers because you realised our terms were crap, we're sorry and we're now going to improve our terms. However, we're still completely uncompetitive compared to any other sportsbook!

It's incredible they're putting this message out like it's a Christmas reward for affiliates.

Wow. That takes a lot of guts to steal from your partners and offer back what you stole from them as a gift.

Nice one Guard Dog - I forgot actually they stole my Blue Square players when that sportsbook shut down (they paid BlueSq a handsome fee, took all their player accounts and all BlueSq urls directed to Betfair landing pages, and paid affiliates not a penny). They've probably got a few hundred of my old referrals for free. Will never trust these guys again. You could offer me 95% rev share and I still wouldn't take it!

ha. Agreed. I think they are counting on short-term memory loss to get their affiliates back. I'm doubting this will work for them.

Very true, I have had so many "bad" companies try to be nice to me in the past couple of weeks under the disguise of Christmas to try get back business! It's like putting all your presents under the tree and then getting burgled while you're down the pub on Christmas Eve ;)

Nothing surprises me these days in the industry. Though, instead of bitching about it, I'm treating this like, I should have, a business. I'm not you buddy and if given the chance, most would screw me over. So any sign of funny business and that's it, their gone. Has saved me a lot of headaches, lately.

The new terms are an insult but I disagree totally on this one. Like you said, Betfair paid Blue Square for the players so Blue Square were the ones who kept the money and gave you nothing. They should have paid you a termination fee based on a percentage of whatever they received from Betfair.

Jeeeeze - could they get any scummier?
Trying to entice affs with the promise of DROPPING their RS to 15% in 2 years time...
And still pocketing the money they stole with MY Blue Square players (earning me £500/month not so long ago).

Excuse my language, but what a bunch of total bastards.

Do you think I should not deal with Betfair at the start of an affiliate business?

If you look at any big site that refers players or affiliates you will find betfair on top of complaints on several levels, if not they are paying to get listed for sure...
In my experience they have bad casino practices, on the affiliate side they dont care about you, unless you are putting a high volume of rollover and SU rates, that said i would not even get close...

For players betfair its even worst, i can recall one weekend the players got an email about a 10x play through bonus for the casino and i am not lying when i say that in the next 24 hours i ended up with a forum full of players asking what was with the blocked accounts and seized funds... i mean something really absurd in the lines of giving a bonus with a huge mailer and great terms, then when players take part of the bonus they are accused of "abusing" even after they deposited their own funds and meet the terms that betfair itself had design, it was moronic imo... thinking now i find it sad new players and affiliates dont have this info before making a proper choice of partners. I assume this is the reason why only 1 in 10 of us is in this vertical after one year, its very hard to navigate among all the misinformation and propaganda...

Thanks for your information. Previously I though that BetFair is a nice and reliable affiliate program.. and now I see they don`t indebted to players and sffiliates regardless they are the main driving force to earn money..(

Most of the big sportsbook multi-vertical companies should be totally avoided by all start-up or small affiliates IMHO - they are only interested in the BIG players and will happily rob the smaller guys without the slightest of second thoughts. :(

So many have turned from decent to thieving scum over the last 6-8 years, that I've almost lost count!
These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head who screwed me over and I had to dump:
Betfair
Victor Chandler
Mansion Group (iAffiliates)
William Hill Group (Affiliates Utd.)
Ladbrokes
888.con (NOT a typo!)
Sky Vegas - decided just this month that they would blatantly STEAL from their loyal affiliates
