Hey Everyone,
I have a few free weeks of work, so I thought I would finally start a betting affiliate website.

My strategy is to write interesting thought-provoking articles such as 'How To Boost Withdrawals From Gambling Websites With This Secret Tip'. Then use push notification traffic to my website and then hopefully get signs up.

I think the emerging esports and bitcoin gambling markets would be to best to target first.

This should be an interesting journey, but am not expecting this to buy a Lambo anytime soon - but my Namecheap £9.99 hosting subscription would be nice.

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hey and welcome!

How are you planning to get traffic to your site?

"Then use push notification traffic to my website" What does this mean exactly?

As you may be aware of the traditional cost per click advertising networks like Google AdSense, there is a version called push notification.

Have you ever been on a website on your phone and you get a notification asking would you like to receive notifications from this website? That's what some websites use as an additional advertising stream.

So there are a few push notification networks around that accept gambling advertising.

Interesting. And it's allowed to send these push notifications to people even though they have not particularly subscribed to your brand advertising?

That's where this idea is flawed. With the EU privacy laws, and the UKGC clamping right down on social media adverts etc., this is where operators, and their affiliate programs, will draw a firm line in the sand.

OP is a newbie, therefore likely to be naive to the restrictions in place right now, and those on the very close horizon.

Probably not aware, affiliate programs will not hesitate to terminate an affiliate account if the account is conducting any time of advertising which is not double opt-in, and or explicit permission granted by each subscriber receiving said "push notifications".

Proof of permission would also need to be retained for each subscriber, which, again, present further GDPR issues.

In a nut shell, this idea, like so many others dreamt up, may seem good on paper, or may have been doable years ago; email marketing for example... However in 2020 that gate has well and truly be shut, and is now bolted and locked tight.

Yes the networks will push adverts to users that haven't signed up for your branded content. But I will assume they have consented to the network and third-party partners. But I don't worry about how the network have got their audience consent. That for the EU to decide. Yes you have to check the analytics to see if a network publishers are using bots instead of real people.

Plus I am not sending them staring to the casino. I am sending them to gambling-related content that so happens to have an affiliate link at the bottom.

I was meant to have the free time but then couldn't because of covid-19. I still have believe in this method but, I have been too busy to do the work by myself. Although, it is still a work in progress

The idea sounds good except that I am not sure that you have understood the post notifications model correctly. In order for this to work, you need the push notifications set up on your website and then you have to get subscribers. So basically you need to drive traffic to your website. Also, the articles you mentioned, do you have experience of this? 'How To Boost Withdrawals From Gambling Websites With This Secret Tip' basically means 'Win Mega Cash at the Casino With This Simple Hack' or 'Secret to Generating Consistent Returns at Roulette/blackjack/baccarat' am I right?
