With regard to Vmotion, while it seems some of their services are hosted in Cork, I couldn't find if ALL hosting in located there. What you might find is the shared hosting is in the UK or even in the USA. You need to watch out for stuff like this
I'm always wary of hosting companies who do not include information about their network, peering & a break down of where each hosting service is actually located.
What do u mean by where it's actually located? Like u said, they write that it's located in Cork. So what else should I look for?
Do u have another suggestion for hosting in Ireland?
The VPS hosting states location: Cork, Ireland. Which means... ALL virtual private servers are located in Cork and hosted in Cork.
Where as the shared hosting doesn't say where it's being hosted from.
If you specifically seeking hosting in Ireland and the shared hosting is being served from the UK or the USA, then it's useless to you.
I can't give you any recommendations because I don't host in Ireland. I would suggest contacting hosting providers located there and simply asking questions
I've just started setting up a site aimed at the Irish market that's hosted with register365.com. Just checked the IP on the site and it does indeed seem to be hosted in Dublin, Ireland.
It's a work in progress (so not that pretty yet and not much on it atm) but you're welcome to take a look if you want to see server speed: http://www.irishfreebets.net/
No issues so far, but it's only be a week or two...
